Does America need another POTUS Debate?

What amazes me about Trump is that he WANTS an in face debate?  Why?  So in a town hall setting you can have American's yell at you, while you have to stand for 1.5-2hrs?  We just heard him barely get through the Hannity interview over the phone last night.

By canceling, Biden threw the ball back in his court by saying ok with moving it back. Smart.
Trump either dodges it (like Vietnam), tests positive (showing the American public he still has it), or tests negative and has to physically hold on for 90 minutes of berating (potentially looking more unhinged than debate 1).

BTW he mentioned he already won the debate that hasn't even happened yet
Have the debate

Personally, I'm open for another debate, IF they change the format.  In the current form, there is not adequate time to discuss issues.  IMO, I think an open format would be best, the candidates pick the topics.  Each candidate gets 5 to 10 minutes to discuss their pov and then each gets 5 minutes to rebut.

This approach eliminates any potential bias of the moderator and allows the candidates to frame the debate on what they want to discuss.  Would require the parties to work together and agree on the questions and how they are framed during the debate?

From my understanding the Lincoln and Douglas were very open with each candidate challenging the other.  I like that approach, who needs a moderator, hopefully candidate's would be forced to answer the dang questions.  For example, no dodging on the question on packing the court?

I don't see the point. If they could get an actual moderator that would help maybe. I think if you are an undecided voter at this point, you aren't going to vote.

I don't know if you were directing this at my post...

I'm not an undecided voter.  There are important issues that both candidates are not answering.  I do want to know if Biden would stack the court.  He should answer the question as I doubt there is universal support for stacking the court with progressive justices.

Looks like the second debate is cancelled.   Sounds like Trump doesnt want to do a “virtual” debate.

So in effect, he doesnt want to do.....what all Americans have been doing since March.

I'm ridin' with Biden, but I sure wish this were the guy the dems put up....2024 will likely pit Kamala v. Pete. That would be a damn good race.

He wasn't my top choice but I'd take him any day over Trump. And I don't think they understood what they were getting when they invited him to give his opinions. Ha!

Early on I had a mentor that sarcastically said  "Indecision is the key to flexibility", have a spine dude.  Looking for the perfect as an excuse to refute the perverse is just an excuse for your prejudice.

Not at all. I didn't quote you. I was just making my own comments and observations based on the topic. I do think that the courts need more balance. I don't think the GOP should be able to add another seat before the election. Guess we'll have to see what happens though.
