Justin Jefferson
#11
Justin was extremely productive vs very good competition all year last year. I wouldnt be too worried about separation right now when you look at the numbers he posted vs the best competition week in and week out. I know Oklahoma doesnt play defense, but over 100 yards on Clemson, Georgia, Florida, and Texas last year and all of those teams, except for Texas, won 11 games or more.

I had Lamb as my #1 and Jeudy as my #2 but I was leaning JJ over Ruggs at #3. I think we like the guy and Kubiak finds a way to make him very productive in year 1. Can we ban the word "Laquon" or "Treadwell" on this site? :-)

Well his 4.4 isnt going to be scaring many DBs,  but his overall skill set should be enough to get better separation the quan had,  and hopefully he can let shit slide,  Quan let the noise eat him up.
Uh, his 4.43 40 time is in the top 25% of NFL players.  He has some wheels, not Tyreek Hill speed, but he is still fast by NFL standards.  He would run circles around Treadwell.

Regardless, the thing that stands out to me about Jefferson is his elite body control and he's fearless over the middle of the field.  He has quick feet and is already a well developed route runner.  His game will easily translate to the NFL and our offense.

I think fans are going to be surprised at how productive he is as a rookie.

I have some reservations about this pick myself. Nothing jumps out at you when you watch video on the kid.
You're gonna regret saying this...  Lol
I hope so Wet!!!  =)

I like the player and the pick.  I think the speed is there.

Bisi Johnson is someone who is very explosive, but not very fast. That gains him an advantage off the line and into the route.

Bisi can jump cut at a near-elite level, and that's how he get's open.  Kubiak was very high on him, too.

I can't help but notice that guys with blazing speed don't usually come with great intangibles (hands, leadership, work ethic, football IQ).

I would say JJ has it all, including the great speed.   He's already where Teams are hoping Jeudy, Lamb, and Ruggs will be someday with good coaching.  He's also a player/coaches son, IIRC?

Ain't gonna lie. Losing Stephon left a hole, but he was oft-injured and seemed to want a feature role on a team that doesn't really do that for anyone.

I'm expecting at least 50 catches, unless someone can rein in my enthusiasm.

The question was his top end and he doesnt have elite speed,  that's all I said and even noted that his overall skill set would be what make him effective.

I wasnt the one making the comparison to treadwell.

I love the pick. I enjoyed watching him at LSU. He may not have the fastest time but he has a great skill set. He is very smart. That play where he caught the ball over his shoulder was awesome because he catches the ball, has to spin and get his feet down while the defender is trying to get the ball. A lot of different things going on at once and a lot of awareness required to be successful. It was funny in his post game where he said they didn't work on that. Bercich and Leber were kind of joking about him being too honest about that. But he is engaging and charming in an interview as well. He was talking a lot to Thielen on the sidelines. He is trying to absorb all he can and he came from a system with great competition. I think it's a great pick.

I for one am thrilled JJ looks like a steal!  The kid loves football and the seperation is really good so far.  Man i cannot wait to see what he develops into and see him mature.  I think many of us including myself have been so shell shocked by Williamson and Treadwell that it effected out view of JJ. love it when the GM is right and my doubts are wrong.
