Oh boy....

I don't really find it fair that some "friend" can screw someone over by putting part of a private text conversation from a year or two ago.   First of all it was a private conversation, secondly Fromm was obviously being sarcastic in his remarks.

I would love to have access to text conversations of all these guys who are out crucifying Fromm over this.  I guarantee there is so much more appalling things you would find.

If I were a potential star athlete, or had any aspirations to lead anything, I would completely turn off social media.  Too many vultures looking for a payday.

Twitter did not make  the post. Jake did. I would rather people speak their mind and we know who they truly are and hear  what they say/think instead of avoiding twitter (or whatever medium they fear of doing do using).

I agree though there are people out there that would twist anything you say but that can be part of the discussion. We can't live a life of fear because someone may twist what we said/say.

The bedrock of freedom and free speech is you are free to do whatever you want as long as it does not take away or threaten another person's freedoms to do same.

That's the beauty of freedom - everyone is bestowed the power to make that judgement. When that is taken away from someone then we no longer have freedom. In a nutshell,  your freedom is not more important than mine.

Case in point the Laura Ingram flip flop where she said...
To Lebron James: "he should shut  up and dribble" - essentially taking away his freedom of speech.
To Drew Brees: "he has the right to voice his opinion" - allowing Brees his freedom of speech.

That is the type of bias we need to call out and eradicate and that only gets dealt with if exposed (I know this was on TV) so having more ways to engage in public or social discourse is good.

Lastly, if someone is stupid enough to post something insensitive/hurtful, they will get criticized and hopefully learn from their mistakes.
