How Teddy Ends Up Back In Minnesota

Teddy is a nice guy and a damn average QB. He will always be the nice guy but not a true franchise guy in my eyes. If or when this current QB failure plays itself out I want a fresh start not a restart/rehashing. Draft the next one and hope after 2 decades it's the right fit at the right time.
Teddy is 16-5 in his last 21 starts so I am pretty sure “your eyes” are wrong.  Really tired of the bs about Teddy being a nice guy “but”.  its more like Teddy is a nice guy “and” he is a great QB!  He’ll be lifting up the Super Bowl MVP one day and some will still be throwing shade.

damn shame about his knee, who knows what 16,17,18,19 look like with a healthy Teddy, cap room, a first round pick, Foles not going to Philly because we took Sam, ughh
Thanks for that reminder.  Now I need a new monitor.

I thought there was a no trade clause in Cousin's contract? so the whole base of the write up is wrong.

I would love Teddy back. we beat the packers at least once and beat the Bears twice with Teddy as QB last season and win the division with a bye.  he is more mobile and clutch

We all like Teddy, dude. But he's a Game Manager. What do the Saints do best? Throw the ball within 20 (and usually 10) yards to Thomas and Kamara. That's pretty much what he did in Minnesota.

Show me a significant sample size over time of Teddy throwing deep, often, and with accuracy. I used to go on and on and on about 3 to 4 throws a season that he would make that would extrapolate to him becoming a good downfield passer.

To be fair, the injury disrupted his progression. But he hadn't backed up my hopes before then and he hasn't since. Guys who live in the intermediate and short range are Game Managers. And yes, with his loss of arm strength that now includes Brees. Hill was the one throwing the deep ball on Minnesota, not Teddy and not Brees.

I think he'll have a very nice career. But the ceiling is not even Cousins, and Kirk's ceiling may very well be good but not good enough to win it all.

Teddy is a good QB but I  don't think he'll ever be a great QB.  Not saying Cousins is either but I for one would not be thrilled with Teddy coming back to the Vikes.

You do know that clause doesnt necessarily prevent a trade right?  If KC is agreeable to the destination they can trade him, and if the team were to tell him flat out that he isnt going to get a new deal after next year he would be a fool not to want to at least entertain the option of a new location sooner than later.

Ultimately the Vikings could tell him and his agent that he isn't in their future plans, and if he wants to look for a trade he is more than welcome to. I believe that the player and agent would look for that trade

I would love to know how Bridgewater feels about the Vikings organization. Great relationship until the injury, no doubt. Kinda quiet publicly during rehab - understandably - and the Bradford acquisition period. Things really seemed to cool when the team declined his 5th year option and especially when Spielman talked about tolling his rookie contract. There were reports we offered him a short-term contract in the range of $6-$7M before he became a FA, but he jumped for $5M from the Jets to backup Josh McCown.

He never went on some tweet storm, and he's too classy to air his grievances. But if he doesn't care for this team or its management, any speculation about his return is going nowhere.
