In case anyone was wondering... here's who Obama gave the Medal of Freedom to. Please feel free to explain how Rush is not just as worthy as some of these folks:
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Ellen DeGeneres
Robert De Niro
Bill and Melinda Gates
Tom Hanks
Michael Jordan
Lorne Michaels (???)
Robert Redford
Diana Ross
Vin Scully
Bruce Springsteen
Cicely Tyson
Looks like a pretty good list to me. You'll be sure to let me know when any of them sing a song called "Barack the Magic Negro," or refer to the first daughter as "The White House dog" or make fun of Michael J Fox's Parkinsons.
LOL a good list LOL. I guess we all get to have our opinions. I had no idea there was a "I like you" award the President gave out titled oddly enough the Medal Freedom???
There hasn't been a politician on either side of the aisle (save Ron Paul) who has given a damn about your or my freedom in decades.

I'm pretty sure that, had I enough hate in my heart to be concerned about such things, I could find equally damning statements by at least some of the above-mentioned list. So what? Many of these were honored for being excellent in their particular fields. And unless you are absent of the ability to reason, the same could be said of Rush. If I find offensive quotes from these list of recipients... then what? Will you agree that they (the ones who received this award from Obama) didn't deserve it either?
So it requires a certain amount of "hate" in your heart to to be appalled about someone singing a song called "Barack the Magic Negro" or calling a teenage girl a "dog." It requires "hate in your heart" to be concerned about those things. You can't just say those are offensive and ugly and wrong and that you, as a follower of Christ, or even a human with an ounce of compassion, are opposed to them. No, like an 11 year old, you'd rather go find something hateful that Vin Scully might've said. You are a real piece of work.
You didn't ask if I opposed them. You assumed that because I didn't automatically assume that your characterization of those things was accurate... that I would somehow approve of them if they were. And, yes, it is "hatred". Your response to me is dripping with it. You don't just hate Trump. You hate everyone who doesn't see the world as you do. You're free to do that. But you can't make me hate you. I don't... and I won't; no matter what you say.
The topic at hand (if you care to return to it) was the Rush didn't deserve an award... that was similarly awarded to others. I would be comfortable with someone saying that Rush didn't deserve it... if they could agree that people like Lorne Michaels didn't deserve it either.

See the world as I do? Yeah, call me crazy, but I'm opposed to (appalled by, actually) people who sing songs like "Barack the Magic Negro" and ridicule people who suffer from Parkinsons.
I would like to live in a world where people on both sides of the political spectrum condemn that sort of behavior instead of celebrate it. You can call it hate if that helps you feel better about your walk with the Lord. But, yeah, I hate racism. And I have a big problem with anyone who thinks it's OK to mock a teenage girl about her looks. Or anyone who would ridicule someone with an affliction over which he has has no control. But I guess I'm funny like that.

Oh...you think the award is meant to be taken literally? Like everyone who gets it has to further American "freedom" in some way? I'm guessing you also think the Nobel Peace Prize is about Peace? LOL.
This is an award very often given to celebrities for their achievement in whatever. There have been hundreds. I don't think anyone has a problem with that. The problem that I have with Rush Limbaugh receiving it isn't about the fact that he's a celebrity. That would be ridiculous. As ridiculous as Pump's post.
The only thing Rush Limbaugh has ever furthered is hatred and divisiveness and racism. And in that way, he's lot like the piece of shit who gave him the award.

Let's be honest here (for a change)? EVERYONE that you disagree with (politically) is someone who furthers hatred, divisiveness and racism. You and your kind have so prostituted those words that they have ceased to have any real meaning. But they make the people (who use them as weapons against their "enemies") feel superior to others. That's why they continued to be used: as virtue signaling. Like I said, I know for a fact that I could find evidence of the things you accused Rush of... in some of the people that you would laud as "heroes". But, when THEY do/say certain things, it's OK... because they think like you do. Or, when they did/said certain things, there was a "context" that changes how we should view those things; a luxury that you wouldn't afford to any with whom you disagree.

You really believe that? That if a fellow Democrat or liberal or anyone with whom I agree politically wrote a song called "Allen West the Magic Negro" or publicly mocked someone who suffers from Parkinsons, or called a young teenage girl a "dog," I would be OK with that? I'm going to give you a little credit here (that you may not deserve), but I don't think you really believe that. Nor do I believe that YOU are OK with those things. Am I right?

That's it in a nutshell for me as well. If the dems dont want him handing it out they should have brought a better candidate 4 years ago and spent the last 4 years looking for 1 for this year instead of whining about their loss.
