Those first two games were so exciting! Hopefully Diggs become AC this year and Cook holds onto the ball in the end zone!
Who remembers 1987?

That ‘87 team was really good. The 3 games the replacements lost made them look bad as far as record goes and they kind of backed into the playoffs.
But, those playoffs were fun to watch, until that Washington game. Funny thing about that Washington game. The night before, I got my hand smashed in a car door and had to go to the ER. I didn’t sleep all night due to some serious pain and then tried to watch the game on about 2 hrs of sleep and taking pain medication. I hardly remember much of that game. The dropped pass is really the only memory I have of it.

Me too. I don’t really remember the game but that dropped pass I will never forget. So near.

Some 1987 perspective I thought was interesting...
Reagan is President, challenges Gorbachev to "tear down that wall." U2's Joshua Tree released Platoon won best picture (also the year of The Untouchables, Lethal Weapon and Crocodile Dundee) Dow hits 2500 for the first time. Twins win World Series

The difference was that was a young inexperienced team that had a lot of talent on the rise. I remember it well as I was in high school at the time. I also remember being devastated at the Redskins loss, could have went either way really. I think had they gone to the SB that year in 88 Minnesota would have had two championship teams in a matter of months.
This current Viking team is a little different, much of the talent is on the backside so to speak. I doubt they can pull off a run like that one did. |
