True leadership
BTW - SD governor is showing true leadership with hydroxychloroquine.  Can’t wait to see her results and share them here.

My understanding is you have to give it early.  Too late and it might not be as effective.

if she was being a true leader she would have shut down the meat packing plant in SF, that is the majority of the cases of this virus in SD, much sooner.  she also would have shut down construction projects that are bringing in out of state labor by the hundreds to our rural areas.   She is wanting to look tough on the virus,  but her actions speak differently to me to often.

as far as the drug... lots to learn, but early introduction of it with zinc or zpacks (azithromycin) seems to be very promising until an actual cure and/or immunization is available.

HAHAHA

Left:  Constitution says Fed has no right to open economy.  FEDERALISM!

Also Left:  Why didn’t Trump shut it down sooner?

LMAO can’t have it both ways.  States and cities (like NY) acted too slowly!

Thank goodness Trump stopped travel with China and Europe!  So the states couldn’t make poor decisions too late.

National emergency.  He has full authority over reopening federal economy. States can do whatever they want.

I do agree that the left as a whole is issuing a ton of double-speak right now, both complaining about too much authoritarianism and not enough authoritarianism by Trump.  We've also seen congress centralizing power in the hands of the president through every President we've had in recent memory.
I have no idea if Trump actually has some sort of legal authority over the states in times of emergency or not.  Regardless, it doesn't really matter what one person says or what the law says, it comes down to how people are acting and if Trump claims authority and the states give away their authority, well than that's what it is.

I think this country was very clearly founded as a republic with states having dominance over the US government, and over time a lot of people think that the US government has some hierarchy over the states, rather than responsibilities given to them by the states.  Either way, I don't think that is the future.  One timeline is a dystopian future where people acquiesce their own authority over their own autonomy to their government.  You can see this in multiple states now, like where they are limiting freedom based on the emergency (as opposed to merely asking people to follow guidelines).  The other timeline is one where people are taking personal responsibility and ensuring the government is acting in a manner that follows their collective will.  I think we're heading towards the latter.

Would it be better if I said "more dystopian"?  The world is going to get increasingly more ridiculous until people stop merely bitching and claim responsibility for the organizations that they participate in.
