Not sure what specifically you're referring to Z. I know right at the beginning of the Russia / Ukraine conflict (early 2022), Trump set the liberal MSM a flutter with a comment about Putin being smart and savvy. If you read the whole comment though, it was more calling Biden out for being weak and stupid and making the point the Afghanistan debacle provided Putin an opening. Trump also called out Putin's ruthless attack on the Ukraine and called Zelensky brave or something along those lines. Knowing Trump, there could be more commentsbut that's the one that got the left's panties in a bunch...and that was pretty faux indignation. Btw...I think it's safe to say Putin is smart and savvy and not to be overlooked. I also think it's safe to say he's ruthless.
""He rules with an iron fist, 1.5 billion people, yeah I'd say he's smart," he continued. "Wouldn't you say he's smart?"Xi, whose authoritarian tenure has been marked by an increase in censorship and mass surveillance, has been accused by Human Rights Watch of starting a "broad and sustained offensive on human rights" since he became China's leader in 2012.
Earlier this week, the UN found that Xi's government has committed "serious human rights violations" of Uyghurs and other Muslim ethnic minorities in the Xinjiang province. Investigators said they found "credible evidence" of torture which could amount to "crimes against humanity," per the report.
Putin launched an unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, and a formal International Criminal Court investigation is underway to determine if Russia has committed war crimes during the war."
I find it interesting that he compliments some of the absolute horror shows walking this planet, then doubles and triples down on it.
He's a s**t person, which says...well, predictable things about his fan club.

Hardly. This isn't an apples for apples comparison by any stretch. Saying the election was rigged and that Jan. 6th riots were 'fine' because they were 'patriots' isn't in the same zip code as party line voting. Give me a break.
Reminder: I live just outside Seattle, where rioters were enabled, cheered, and allowed to take a center of the city hostage as the mayor hailed CHAZ/CHOP as a "Summer of Love" (despite rapes/execution style murders), police were trapped in a precinct building that had rioters trying to both Quik-Crete doors shut and set it on fire, the governor used Covid powers to fire anyone that didn't keep vaxxing at his demanded rates and then held onto federal covid funds longer than any other governor in the country, allowed the DA to sue the citizens to keep car tab prices high (yes, this happened), had a huge chunk of Seattle/Western Washington "leaders" mysteriously delete their supposedly public domain texts during the CHOP/CHAZ debacle (that investigation continues), almost half of the Seattle police force quit due to lack of support from DNC "LEADERSHIP:" that has held all the power here for generations (and now wonders why recruiting is going to terribly), put extra taxes on firearms and ammunition before outlawing both large capacity magazines and the fallacy that is "assault weapons" (but they're not coming for your guns, America! Really!)...
...while giving us either first or second highest gas taxes, soaring homicide rates, and constant attempts to put in methadone/safe injection sites along with sexual predator rehab facilities within a block of elementary schools.
This all has happened, and/or IS happening, and the DNC cult has held all of the meaningful power here for generations.
Sick, filthy cultists...but calling them anything of the kind results in instant hissings of "fascist! nazi! racist!" regardless the context...
...so, if anything, I think modern leftist, which is certainly basing more on leftist authoritarianism than anything like liberalism, is comparable to a direction like Stalinism or Maoism...
...both of which dwarfed nazism's already horrible body count.
Cults. Horrible, and not so much "apples to apples" as two kinds of rotting roadkill.
Never said there wasn't cult members on both sides. What I said was Trumpers are cult members. For sure.
I’m stupider for this whole conversation. Lol. The people in this thread are how we end up with a senile, corrupt, incompetent buffoon in the White House. Go on hating Orange Man, even though our country was far better in every measurable and unmeasurable way with him in office.

You didn't actually listen to the speech(es) and the context of the Putin and Xi comments did you? Just the "summary" from Yahoo...they're big fans of Republicans and Trump in particular...lol. The context of the "praise" is that both Putin and Xi are one step ahead of the current administration...and you need a tough, smart leader. You can disagree whether that's Trump (as would I) but arguing that Trump is advocating for Russian or Chinese style policies with that commentary is nonsense. It goes back to the Trump is a dictator days. To be a good dictator you'd have control over the media to suppress damaging information, control the educational system to teach your ideology and have a secret police that protects you and your party while investigating and locking up your opposition, You'd also have to suppress religious rights as religion gets in the way of a good dictatorship. Who's that sound like?
For the record, I don't support either one of these asshats but at least I can recognize the Country was in a much better position under Trump. I'd struggle with anything Biden has done that has had a positive effect on the economy, security, crime, drugs, education.

Actually, I've done far more than that, sorry if that spoils your assumptions. Starting with the original article in Business Insider, I've watched the pattern of orange boi essentially cozying up to our adversaries and treating our allies like vermin, tripping over his endlessly-wagging tongue to "schmooze" every asshat dictator in North Korea, Russia, China, and so forth while snarling at NATO, etc...and then insisting that already-ramping up investments by our allies were all his doing.
Kinda like the economy uptick, which was shown to have started under Obama...but, whoops, nope, the Sunkist savior would never admit that (or anything, unless utterly cornered about pu$$y grabbing).
I don't agree that the country was better under him, I think that was complete illusion that is wildly clung to by strangely delusional. He was, and remains, a complete embarrassment, a bumbling clown that can't admit any mistake and immediately points to anyone/everyone else when he's caught, over and over and over again, being full of $hit. I've been very, consistently clear that I despise both "main" treason clubs, and that hasn't changed. I've despised Biden forever, and his parts in NDAA bills and similar issues furthered domestic surveillance and ironically helped to create the very police state that his party railed against after George Floyd. He's useless without his teleprompter, he's a shallow, partisan, entitled old jerk on his best days, and gets a huge number of passes from being in the party that enjoys mutual reach-arounds from most of the press corps. I guess I don't understand how you think that your argument is fortified with the childish comments and overreach in your evaluation of Trump's faults. He clearly is / was more feared by Russia and China than the guy in charge now. His results were strong in nearly every area of measure. His instincts on Covid, Foreign Policy, Immigration, Energy, Crime, and every facet of our national well-being were proven right over time. You cite two very minor and inconsequential areas where Trump made stupid statements. Even if I agree with you that he sticks his foot in his mouth far too often, it's pennies on the dollar to the out and out incompetence we're witnessing today.
He was also undermined his entire term in office in an effort to ruin him. It would be impossible for him to succeed without fighting back. His choice of words in doing so is sometimes off-mark. His evaluation of what's occurring is spot on. So, it's fine if you want to use pure demagogue in your description of Trump, but it doesn't do your argument any favors. Your entire thread has been riddled with a continuous rant. There's no use trying to have a factual conversation with the style you're using.

So he was undermined his entire first term, the powers to be ( from both sides of the aisle ) combined to prevent him from being re-elected, yet there are still a large percentage of conservatives that think he is the best candidate to somehow remove Biden from office and return a conservative to the white house? Trump has his chance, and despite a lot of positives he failed as a president, he failed because he was unable to be presidential and move the needle with those swing voters, he failed because he couldnt shut the fuck up and always was more than happy to give the media a sound bite they could use against him. he failed because he insisted in trying to always show that he was the smartest in the room when often the smartest thing would have been to just either defer to his aides and cabinet, or to just shut the fuck up. If he was really all about America and putting her back on top, he would have put himself 2nd once in a while in an effort to make himself more electable for all those that just couldnt stomach his arrogance.
I voted for the dip shit twice, but I hope like hell I never have to do it again. There are several candidates that could represent the conservative platform quite well and I think if the conservatives in this country really want to get rid of Biden, its going to start with moving on from Trump.

I agree that I'm looking for a better "conservative" candidate, but I don't fully agree that he failed as a president. Who could succeed when the entire apparatus of govt. tried to undermine him with lies for his entire tenure. Think about the hurdles that he and I fear every conservative for now on face. You have a press and a govt that will utilize any and all tactics including out and out fabrication of stories, two sets of rules in justice, and rigging of elections on a massive scale. I'm not sure how anyone could be in office that isn't willing to fight. Trump handled some things wrong, but he isn't / wasn't the core problem, and how can anyone not lose their mind, when every single institution he dealt with is corrupt to the core?
