I wouldn't want to cede it if I were him either. But I agree, there's probably not a resolution without it.
It just seems wrong to have to do so though.
The whole thing stinks of Sudentland & Anschluss to me.

I get it but there's no way for Ukraine to get it back without taking it by force and despite our best efforts, Ukraine is slowly losing territory...not gaining.
Krushchev transferred Crimea from Russia to the Ukraine in the mid 50's as part of the larger USSR (so the Soviets weren't really ceding territory) It was operated as an autonomous region afterwards. There's more Russian speaking people there than Ukrainian (even prior to the recent purge). There's no way the Russians concede the territory now.

Multiple headlines over the last two days said that Zelenskyy had dismissed a "peace proposal", utterly giving up Crimea to Russia and never gaining NATO membership.
This was supposedly brokered by the US as a "deal"...W T Absolute F?!?
It's one thing to want the war to end, but as has been endlessly brought up...Russia NEVER HONORS ANYTHING, and all this does is reward years of mass rape/murder and literally enable similar endeavors in the future. We all knew that the orange stain was going to sell out for his Moscow bff, no shock there...but yet more proof of a truly horrible president.
Just parroting putin's agenda is no "deal".
I mean, the President of the United States is supposed to support ALL of the US Businesses, and show impartiality...right?
This...heh..."trumps" the fake bible pic, by miles.

"President Donald Trump posed for photos next to a line of Tesla vehicles in front of the White House Tuesday after saying earlier on social media he would buy one as a "show of confidence and support for Elon Musk."
I didn't see a Ford or GM event, specifically no Rivian event...hmmm!

Funny...you didn't bring this up when Biden had his big EV Summit at the White House in 2021 promoting Electric vehicles from Ford, GM and Stellantis..but not the largest US EV provider, Tesla, because they don't use UAW labor.

So...as you said "I mean, the President of the United States is supposed to support ALL of the US Businesses, and show impartiality...right?"
You don't actually believe Musk's Doge relationship is financially helping Tesla do you?
Just the daily clickbait for your daily dose of outrage.

You mean, where the former zombie president stood with multiple US companies that always represented huge labor workforce representation? Maybe that was involved?
(take all the time you need)
As for the DOGE/Tesla relationship...HAR! Elon's shown to be the complete s**tshow he's always been, as body panels fall off his eye-assault "pickups" after many years of quality issues and more that afflicted his over-hyped company. Yes, it's been disastrous, but are you pretending that was the plan?
Elon has previously shown to tank billions from his own company's stock values with dumbass tweets alone. You're watching a failed set of plans from horrible, failing "leadership" and its consequences. Hell, even some of the Faux Nooz crew are hitting back on tariff stupidity, complete optics failings, and more.
The plan, like our "leadership" is failing right before our eyes. You said it was going to be a long four years? Less than 100 days in, and multiple impeachment efforts are already building.

I get it Z. All Ukrainians need to die or learn Russian. Because that's how this ends without a peace deal. Crimea? As I said above, it's more Russian than Ukrainian. The proposed deal also reportedly includes European peacekeepers...who are protected by NATO.

So...it's ok if the Democratic President doesn't invite the largest EV provider to an EV summit? In fact it's so ok that it gets a big yawn from Z. But Trump...oh the outrage...the hypocrisy is remarkable. But carry on with faux outrage.
Btw...I've never been a big Tesla fan. Doesn't have anything to do with Musk.

Your...interpretations...of my posts are bizarre, and I hope you get the help you need.
The EU talks a very different game than that deal, so I have doubts as to their actual investment into it. It's a pure s**t deal, because...wait, this has been said far and wide, for months...enabling and rewarding a proven mass murder/rape architect is a tragically bad decision. The deal was and is gladhanding by Trump to his papa putin, just like most of his press on the matter. The Ukrainian people were wildly against it, and they don't share your outlook. Neither do that, that "summary" is a pile of worthless bulls**t.
As for the other...you keep assigning my "approval" to events that I had no say in, nor did I take heavy positions on. The UAW and other unions were wanting to show off THEIR supported companies' EV progress, and while "Vip's Big Boi" was pimping more EVs than anyone else, vehicles like the F-Series, Silverado, and so on still dominate as they have for decades...so, again, showing solidarity to longtime American marques and their segment-dominant offerings for a workforce that's constantly enabled by the dnc?
Not surprising, I would never have said "OK", as I never liked all the EV legislation in the first place...something you didn't ask about. Quit assigning s**t I don't say, liar.
(will this get noticed, or will the moderator "care"? Stay tuned!)
BUT...standing with many longtime American brands in a technology showcase as opposed to literally using the White House to market one brand from a South African Immigrant that spent hundreds of millions during trumplestilskin's influence prostitution?
Not fond of either, but the previous seems much closer to legitimacy and actual pro-American statements than glad-handing from one narcissist to another; it really looks like a reward for over a quarter billion dollars shamelessly shoveled into team orange stain.

That TDS is really entertaining. You have to contort yourself to pretend that peddling EVs on the White House lawn is absolutely outrageous...except if a Democrat does it. It's an EV Summit but you justify snubbing Tesla because the companies on display have longstanding non-EV products...righttttttt. Tesla shouldn't have been snubbed at the EV summit. Consider it as Equal time...just like the opposing party response at the State of the Union. Btw...here's President Obama pimping the Chevy Volt
For the Ukraine thing...dead or Russian...that's how your position ends for your Ukrainian friends/family. Hope you'll be happy with the result.

You're determinedly dishonest. If you read ANY of the stories regarding the EV summit, the UAW influence is quoted. There's many to choose from.
Again, never said I was OK, that was yet more of the bulls**t you assign to me in your constant straw man tactics. In fact, I don't know what you'd post without that approach...because it's an obvious favorite. How often have I been able to call you out for posting "my position" that I've never stated?
Think about it. It'll have to be you, we've been told who won't care...!
Oh, and as for the "approval" of the sham "peace deal" laid out by team orange treason:
"Responding to MPs’ concerns about Trump’s plan today in the Commons, Foreign Office minister Stephen Doughty reiterated the UK’s support for Ukraine’s sovereignty – including its claim on Crimea.
He said: “The UK’s position regarding Ukrainian sovereignty is well-known and has not changed.
“We do not recognise Russian sovereignty over any territory illegally seized from Ukraine, including Crimea."
PLUS:
The European Union will never recognize the Russian-occupied Crimean peninsula as legally Russian, the bloc's top diplomat Kaja Kallas told Agence France-Presse (AFP) on April 22.
Kallas' comments come in response to reports that the recognition of Crimea as Russian territory is being considered as part of a U.S.-backed proposal to end the war in Ukraine.
"Crimea is Ukraine," Kallas told the AFP.
"It means a lot for the ones who are occupied that others don't recognize this as Russian."

Maybe 20 seconds. Your TDS doesn't allow a reasonable conversation Z. You hang on every bit of faux outrage. Do you really believe the Europeans would tip their hand as part of the negotiations with Russia. They have to be projecting a desire for NATO membership and full return of Crimea. That puts maximum pressure of Putin. The reality is that none of us know what's going on behind the scenes. The US and Russian teams aren't talking. I think I'll wait to see if anything comes of it. With that, it's draft day..time to unwrap a shiny new present.
