Trump administrations lifts sanctions against Russian oligarch and Putin ally Oleg Deripaska's business empire

Mr Deripaska and his businesses — including the world’s second-largest aluminium company, Rusal — were hit with sanctions in April in retaliation for Russian interference in the election and other hostile acts by Moscow.
Representative Lloyd Doggett, D-Texas, who has criticised the administration for being soft on Rusal, said the move to lift sanctions amounted to Mr Trump “sliding another big gift under Vladimir Putin’s Christmas tree.”
Saying the plan “appears to be a shell game brokered by a sanctioned Russian bank, VTB Bank, involving one of Putin’s closest buddies, Oleg Deripaska,” Mr Doggett said it “only encourages Putin to pursue his destabilising activities around the world.”

You remember what Republicans said about Obama and Hillary being traitors to our country over the de-bunked Uranium One conspiracy theory or the de-bunked story of giving Iran their money back?  Yet Trump continues to do everything he can to help Putin in plain sight and Republicans say nothing.  If this was a Democratic POTUS who won the election after Russians were found to have meddled in the election to help the Dems, a Dem POTUS who publicly said "Russia if you're listening, there's 30,000 emails missing" and *poof* 24 hours later Russians hack the other candidate to release dirt on their opponent, a Democratic President who has repeatedly praised Putin and attacked our allies, a Dem POTUS who has secret meetings in the White House with Russians and Russian press but kicks our press out, a Dem POTUS who has some private meeting with Putin and only a translator in Helsinki and absolutely nobody can confirm what was even discussed, a Democrat POTUS who fires the FBI Director for the investigation involving himself and Russian collusion, a Dem POTUS who has repeatedly lied and changed his story numerous times about arranging a meeting with Russians in Trump Tower, a Dem POTUS whose entire campaign staff has pleaded guilty to multiple felonies ranging from fraud to conspiracy against the US for their lying and contacts with Russians, a Democrat President who suddenly yanks us out of Syria against the wishes of the Defense Secretary, Armed Forces Committee and everyone else because we have not defeated ISIS and we just handed Syria over to Russia which is EXACTLY what Putin wants, then that same Dem POTUS lifted the Russian sanctions on a Russian oligarch and Putin ally that Obama put in place to retaliate against meddling in our elections .... can you imagine the outrage on Fox News if this was the other party doing this shit??  Republicans would be calling for the firing squads and want him hanged for treason.

And yet ... Savannah is worried about calling out "anonymous sources" of recusing a complicit AG who wants to help stop the Mueller investigation because he doesn't see any smoke yet between Trump and the Russians.

How reasonable people can't put these puzzle pieces together by now because they'll defend their team's blatant treason to the death will be a case study for psychologists for centuries.

Of course it is all fake news and deep state.
& anonymous sources.

the  only Trump AG that will be acceptable to Dems will be one that recuses him/herself, right?

If they are a potential AG that doesn't have pre-existing conflicts of interest and they are actually qualified to do the job I don't see why they couldn't be appointed. At some point there is going to be enough evidence that things are vastly wrong with this administration. Earlier in the thread you rebuked my opinion that in the first quarter of the year senators were going to start running away from Trump. A couple days later and we are already seeing signs of that. At some point there will even be enough evidence to convince some of the most ardent deniers.

His actions the last couple of days are not gaining points with his own party. Or should I say deep state operatives like Marco Rubio, Lindsay Graham and other dems that have been posing as republicans all along.... Dun DUN DUN!

As for Trump's economy:

Under Obama in 8 years, he started w/ Dow Jones at 6900 points and closed just under 20,000 when he left office.  That trend continues into 2017 going from 20,000 to 24,800 as Trump and Republicans pass no legislation for economic policies other than a tax cut for corporations.

January 23:  Trump announces his first economic policies: tariffs on solar panels, washing machines most from China ... soon steel and other industries will follow

January 26:  Dow Jones closes at record high at 26,616

December 21:  Dow Jones closed 22,445 ... -4171 point loss

We're now in the largest drop in stock prices since 2008 recession under Bush.  That beautiful economy Trump always boasts about and his supporters point out - clearly he inherited a hot market from Obama and had he left it alone we'd be fine, but he had to go Full Stable Genius because "trade wars are so easy to win".  2nd round of bailouts to farmers just announced last week after Trump single-handedly destroyed the soybean market with tariffs on China, no recovery in sight as China's shifted to import soybeans from Brazil.

It's like Groundhog's Day and Deja Vu  when Clinton and Obama handed the Republicans a health economy and watched the GOP dismantle it, run it into the ground, then try to blame Democrats for their own mess.  And yet their voters prove the very definition of insanity, listening to promises of how cutting corporate taxes and increasing military spending and embracing supply side/trickle down/Reaganomics is really going to work THIS TIME  ... so they keep voting red over & over expecting different results.  3 decades of the same promises, same shitty results, same excuses.

Yep, I truly am tired of all the "winning", evidently so are Kelly & Mattis.  Now nobody's left to change Donnie's diaper, read the scaled-down Cliff's Notes version of the national security briefs that he refuses to because it's boring and he has no attention span, and we have an unleashed Trump Train of failure with no brakes picking up steam going downhill.   God help us.

I have made this argument myself. To his loyal minions it is moot. Trump talked continually about the mess he inherited. His predecessor inherited Too big to Fail Wall street and a crumbling auto industry. Not to mention 2 ongoing wars. None of that is relevant I guess. His mess was FAR worse.  We had 2 terrible choices from the big 2 last time. I voted 3rd again. Hopefully we have 2 better choices. Yes two...THEY may well abandon the WINNING for normalcy.
