Zimmer: 'I'll announce my starting QB on Wednesday'
#91
I've been hearing a lot about Case "playing out of his mind," or reverting "back to normal." I get where that's coming from but I sorta disagree that he is playing out of his mind. I think this is exactly who Case is. One of the best backups in the NFL whose strengths have been amplified and whose weaknesses have been mitigated by an extraordinary supporting cast. I for one am stoked that we have a backup like Case Keenum. But I'd be lying if I said I'm not SUPER-stoked to see what Teddy freaking Bridgewater, a QB with greater strengths and fewer weakness, would look like in that offense. It may not work out. You never know how a guy will respond after an injury like that. But as Geoff says, "the upside is enormous" and you don't want to drive your Camry to the playoffs without first checking to see if your Lamborghini is back from the shop.

Either way, of course I will support and cheer for the QB and the team.  And either way, there will be plenty of opportunities to second guess, debate and continue the discussion.
If we win what will there be to second guess and debate?

If the D and ST scores 3 TDs and the O manages one drive that ends in a FG...I think there could be debate if we go with Teddy...or don't pull Case for a ready Teddy...
How about games where the offense failed to get it in the endzone and relied on the foot of a kicker in sub-zero temps?
and that is relevant to this year how?
O I see how that works  =) =)

Its relevant because it's the last game bridgewater played and we the poster I was replying to was discussing crazy situations.

except his hypothetical could happen this year... its extremely unlikely that our OL goes to shit, our WRs turn into crap, and we end up hosting a historically cold game that comes down to a kicker... oh yeah, i forgot the part that the OC decides not to try and throw except on plays that are about impossible to run for a first down.

2015 should have zero bearing on any discussion involving the 2017 QB situation.  what would you say if people were bringing up Cases performances as a Ram?  Pretty much the same arguement,  this 2017 Vikings offense is so far from the 2015 offense its like a completely different team.

Ok just set the rules so that you can be right and we will still listen to the coach tell us that Keenum is the starter.

the quote feature SUCKS
why?  You can also cut and paste a sentence and then use the Paragraph option and select quote.
Because people are looking for reasons to pull the quote feature.

Edit: I do think that after you start quoting super long posts and doing like 25 quotes it starts to get confused. Especially when odd characters get put into the text. It happens.
I'm not looking to pull anything.
somehow I often end up typing and it goes into the quoted portion of the thread and I'm unable to type outside of it.

Sorry Papa I think you missed the reference. There was something about people looking for reasons to pull case. I was playing off of that. Didn't mean to intend you were being snarky or anything of the sort.
