What's going on with the L.A. Rams?

Makes sense, OL, Lose Gurley, Belichek exposed em big time and Goff is over-rated

Rams, Brownies and Bears - biggest laugher/disappointments of the season so far.

Living in LA, I can tell you that a lot of the Rams issues is about the offensive line.  Andrew Whitworth got old real quick (he is now 37) -- he is playing poorly.  Sullivan is gone (physically he was struggling last year but he still was the brains behind the line calls, etc.) The new starting center was injured yesterday. Starting guard Joe Noteboom was lost for the season a few weeks ago.  By the end of yesterday's game, Coleman Shelton, an undrafted free agent from Washington, was playing because of injuries.  Their offensive line is really, really poor right now.  And Goff does not play well when under pressure -- that has always been known.

It really is their biggest issue...  that and the fact that their running game is not anywhere as good as it was the past two seasons.  Chris Simms was on ESPN radio yesterday and he pointed out that if you look at what the Rams were doing last year and the year before...  everything was predicated off of Gurley.  They would fake jet sweep motion and hand it off to Gurley...  then they would do jet sweep motion and hand it off to one of their WRs...  then they would fake the jet sweep motion and do a play-action pass with Gurley in the backfield...  it was all mis-direction to exploit matchups and keep defenses worrying about whether it was a Gurley run, jet sweep with a WR, or play-action pass.

For as good an offensive mind as McVay is...  he's struggling right now to figure out how to get them on track.  The Rams offense looks terrible and Goff isn't good enough to carry that side of the ball when the running game isn't working.
