Love this kid's upside...Weatherly didn't make the jump in his second year, hopefully Bower does...

I think Bower could be a nice surprise again this season...  It wouldn't shock me at all if he works himself into the DL rotation.

I think people are overrating him because of the Danielle Hunter parallel. Hunter was a "1st round talent slipped to round 3 because of underuse in college"...Bower is a "4th round talent slipped to UDFA". He can be a contributor and sub, but I don't think he has the thoroughbred ability of Hunter.

He was a Top 150 prospect his senior year of high school and a 4 star recruit. I agree he's not the thoroughbred that Hunter is but he's athletic and big. Viking's D-line coach said he's put on a bunch muscle weight this offseason and is ready to push for a spot. Whether he does or not I have no idea.

I think Weatherly is going to make the leap this year. IMO, Weatherly has a more prototypical body for DE, with some weight in his trunk than Bower. Bower is top heavy with a slim anchor.

If he really has muscled up he will be right there in contention.  The roster weights of the players never seem to change from their rookie years, so we'll never know if they are bulking up or slimming down.
