Quote:On Monday the Minnesota Vikings announced that Dennis Green would posthumously be inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor during a halftime ceremony at the Vikings game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, September 23, at U.S. Bank Stadium.
“You ask me what I would say to him? I would probably just fall in his arms and give him a hug,” Moss said following a long pause to gather his emotions. “There’s no words that I could tell him. The man passed away without me really, really, really giving him my love and thanks for what he was able to do for me and my family. There was a lot of teams that passed on me for wrong reasons. Coach Green gave me that opportunity.
“So, when all of y’all Vikings fans are sitting up here going back in the past, remembering the teams that I played on, the teams that Ahmad [Rashad] played on, the teams that Coach Green coached. Man, however you feel about me, you can feel. But if you feel a good way about me, Coach Green brought me here. Whatever talents I was able to showcase, he helped me do that. Just fall in his arms and give him a big hug, man. That’s my man. You see how emotional I am about him, I’m very thankful to be able to cross paths with Coach Green.”

Last June, Moss remembered Green’s offensive philosophy and how the coach explained it to his players.
Quote:“There was kind of like a podium and if any of y’all know Coach [Dennis] Green, he could play the drums and he knew rhythm very good,” Moss said excitedly. “So he’s up there playing a beat on the podium. We never knew why he was playing that beat. When he was playing the beat, he was telling Randall Cunningham, Randall McDaniel, the offense, Cris Carter and them – this is the rhythm we’re going to have to play to the whole night in order for us to be successful. The rest is history.”
I love you too Randy. You live life by your own drum beat as well. Alot of folks didn't get you. The memories I have of Randy the player I wouldn't trade. I loved how he would streak down the sideline then cut toward the middle of the field and raise his arm. Not because he was open but because he was about to be. BOOM! Straight endzone homies. Denny and Randy are two former Vikings that I feel got disrespected by some fans far more then they were ever perceived to have dished out.
I loved Randy until the incident with the caterer... I understand that was more about his frustrations with childress but that was uncalled for, everybody has bad moments but I dont recall him ever apologizing for that bull shit.

I agree it was a bad look for him. That season was full of bad looks. I wasn't real high on the Wilf family and how they handled business. The caterer thing was frustration over Col. Klink. The way the Wilfs dealt with Childress that season was kinda shameful too. They were going to some of the players behind his back trying to "gauge" team feel for him. What you think happens when you do that? They tank on him. Brad was hired to be the heavy. Clean up the embarrassment of the; boys will be boys attitude left over from Tice. Mop the deck...pun intended. Childress is my 2nd least favorite coach all time. However that hard@$$ attitude of his was what they wanted. Why they picked him partly. Then to go around behind his back and ask players if they like him. Stupid.
That whole season was a train wreck. Brad just made it worse and ownership iced it. Moss got sent packing for a 2nd time from the team he's most noted playing for. For the record that was only a shell of what Moss was by then. I forgive all for that season. Ugly...

theres a lot reasons that people judge a person... imo the only real legit reason is how they treat others... especially strangers (or relative strangers) flipping out on a caterer like he did can be understandable as we all have those moments we arent proud of, but not being man enough to apologize afterwards really has me questioning his personality and fabric as a man. (however, Randy being who Randy is, it wouldnt surprise me at all if he privately made amends with the caterer and his family.)
