You could almost hear the relief in Tyler Conklin’s voice after being selected by the Vikings in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
“Just the opportunity the organization has given me to make my dream come true is a surreal feeling to me right now,” Conklin said. “I’m just excited to be part of this organization and excited to help this organization keep moving forward.”
Conklin started his journey nearly five years ago, leaving a full ride scholarship on the table during the middle of his freshman year at Northwood University in Midland, Mich. He was a backup guard on the basketball team at the time, choosing to pursue that sport after a standout career in high school
