Football gods came in and stepped on our dicks that year. Cousins was never better.

By all accounts, the plan was limp along with Cousins until we could draft a QB, so maybe the football gods gave us exactly what we were asking for.  A healthy Cousins was always going to keep us out of range for a QB, unless it was a Chiefs level trade to go get Mahomes, which may or may not have been feasible given the QB needy teams mid draft that year. #monkeyspawcurl

The slapping was pretty constant that season, though. We had a rough-as-hell start against both Superbowl teams, our stars were fumbling and bumbling in ways unlike themselves (Hock, Osborne, and Mattison were turnover factories), and it took a few games to get to the level the team should have been at from Week 1.

Then, we get there, have a little quality time, but Kirko gets hurt...and Dobbs goes from brilliant to tragic...it was a brutal season in terms of ups and downs.
