I'd also like to point out that one year the Patriots lost on opening day to the Bills 31-0. Brady threw 4 picks. They won the Super Bowl that year. The Bills went 6-10 and missed the playoffs. Football is weird.

Its up the Vikings to show if this was an aberration or not. But we've all been around the block enough to know that one loss isn't the end of the world....especially if you won the week prior. 1-1. Time to go on a one-game win streak, lets start there.

True and it could get uglier/darker b4 it gets better...Our reality is most likely a year of ups/downs, elation and frustration.

Rookie QB's arent good on a fandoms spirituality. This is a year that could really try my fandom patience.

As KOC mentioned, its going to be 'a process for the team' with JJM's ups and downs. But they have to happen, it can't be skipped. Not for high ceiling guys. And this is the year for it.

I think it is a valid point for someone like KC, I do not think there is anyone who doesn't think they can still win the Super Bowl. The big difference is they know what they have and what they are capable of, we do not. We have a first year QB who has played 1 great quarter and 7 not so great quarters. We have an awful secondary and still getting dominated on the DL. We have a TE who has been a total non-factor since coming back from injury and a first round pick who we gave up a ton of picks for who looks average at best. It's a lot more than testing the character of the team and more of is the talent level there to compete at the highest level.

Speaking of Thielen, have been surprised he has been such a non-factor so far. Also with Nailor looking really good, what happens when Addision comes back. I think it was assumed that Thielen would be the 3, however I don't see how you could play him over Nailor, but I do think they will. Right now it doesn't look like it was the best move, could have picked up a FA, saved the picks and kept Nailor in the 3 spot.

Honestly, it may be more on KOC rather than our young QB. Penix looked good and he has started only a few more games than JJ. His offense got the ball out of his hands quickly, negating our pass rush.

Penix is also 25 years old.

But I agree, there's been plenty to dislike about the play-calling y-t-d. I dont have much to complain about with the head-coach, but this would top the list.

There are tenants KOC has around calling a game that I just disagree with on principle and especially with a really young QB.

It's not a 7 year vet like Darnold back there.

Well it affected Darnold against Detroit and LA last year as well. The book is out on KOC's scheme and he still hasn't learned IMO. I like him as a coach, but his adjustments in game need to speed up.

Last night was 100% more on KO than McCarthy. JJM looked off but fine. Our entire offense was a mess compared to Atlanta's focused running game and intermediate throws. Atlanta did a great job hiding and protecting Penix last night. That is not a knock on Penix btw-- they won the game easily. The Vikings did not protect or even try to hide McCarthy. Not even close. That's a nice vote of confidence for him I suppose but training wheels exist for a reason.
