BREAKING: Vikings trade QB Howell to the Eagles, sign Carson Wentz

Most likely a pretty easy conditional.  Remember right now they basically have no backup in Philly.   Say what you will this trade says just as much or more about Brosmer than Howell.  I don't think Howell was clicking well in the system.   Brosmer other than being young is almost the perfect backup QB with potential upside and someone that could truly lead a team if JJ were to get injured.  He is also extremely cheap insurance if McCarthy doesn't work out.  We have seen this happen before with Griffin and Cousins.   Trey Lance and Brock Purdy.

That it appears the Vikings have found a backup QB on UDFA contract is massive.  We have the potential at the QB room costing the organization pennies on the dollar when we were willing to spend $10 to $15 million on a backup QB.

I don't want to get too far ahead of myself but watching him go through his reads so quickly is damn impressive.  He seems to know when to get rid of it, be able to complete balls in tight spaces, and maintain composure as the walls close in. That's hard to coach.  Very impressive for a rookie.

Bout time the vikings took a flyer on a QB that actually has potential to be that Purdy type.

LOL - The Vikings have taken plenty of chances,  this is the 1st time a lower ranked QB has flashed.

Ok, to clarify my comment.  Glad they found one that may be a keeper.
