Fox 9 said they couldn't film the practice except the part where they were just doing drills, so I didn't see anything.
I think the key is getting the starting line healthy enough to get some time together before game 1. JJ will be learning with ups and downs as expected for an inexperienced QB. But no QB is going to play well until the O-line gets its sh_t together.

From what I read, the defensive line was absolutely dominating. JJ had both good and bad passes while under a ton of pressure, no Jefferson, Hock, Darrisaw or Ryan Kelly. Reichard didn't miss a kick. Running game looked good. Backup QBs looked not great, but there's non-stop pressure on the QBs.

IMO, at some point, you are going to have to call off the dogs on D a little bit in camp to get some stuff accomplished at QB. Or you're going to have a skittish QB who's not learning anything but chucking the ball a second after he gets it. As excited as I am about potentially having a really good defense, I've seen this in the past a bit in preseason and then game 1 it all disappears....my main concern is that the D-line is putting so much consistent pressure on the QB, the CBs are looking better than they really are. The O-line is still learning to gel, missing a 100% healthy Darrisaw and last night KOC sat the starting center to rest him. Its discombobulated currently. They'll get there, its still over a month until Game 1 in Chicago. And the O needs Hock and Jefferson back. But offenses are sluggish all over the NFL right now.

Learning and reps, learning and reps....keep piling up incremental improvement. Legit this team is talented. Excited for MNF.

I watched a little of the scrimmage coverage last night and they added a little bit of background on why the Defense is always ahead.  The OC installs plays in a sequence over time so the Defensive Coordinator knows exactly the entirety of the plays that have been installed to date.  It makes it easier to defend if you know what the limitations are to the Offense.  The Defensive Coordinator also usually knows what plays are being installed at each practice and in some cases...in what order.  Again, it makes it much easier to defend.  Combine that with an Offense without JJ and two linemen just getting their game legs under them...makes it tough for the Offense in early reps.  Once the Offense gets more of the playbook installed and the key players back in and up to speed...it evens the playing field.

JJ isn't the type of kid who is going to get easily rattled.  It's going to make the regular season feel so much easier when he's not going against a top notch defense and he'll have these reps to fall back on when he does.

If everyone remembers back to last year, Darnold looked pretty crappy early in Training Camp.  There were some rumblings he might not even be the Week 1 starter with how inconsistent he was for most of July and August.  Then the regular season rolls around and we saw what happened.  JJM is more physically talented than Darnold and has a better head on his shoulders.

He'll be fine.  Don't fret guys...  as Sticky says "He's the ONE".

While I appreciate a homer take as much as another, the reason everyone questions him so much is that his college team overpowered everyone such that he wasn't put under real pressure.  Most games he probably played a half of football and then they just ran the ball the second half while playing with a lead.

I also don't think a training camp fleeing from Flores's defense is really going to help that much when looking at a more conventional defense.  Flores's defense is so tricky for most QB's because it looks so different than what they're used to.

I do trust KOC to make sure JJM gets what he needs though.

So for me, its not that he can't get rattled, he can.....but its harder to do for most. The thing that separates him from others and what KOC found out last year is that his processor is high functioning. They thought that about him coming out of college, the aptitude for a high preforming NFL QB was there. But quickly. He's made incremental growth in the same game he made mistakes in college. What solidifies this thought is that KOC said his growth is 'minute to minute'....he's already got the mental makeup required to be clutch.

If you believe in KOC and the coaching staff/organization being smart or even elite, why else would they hitch their professional wagons to a 22 year old that's never thrown a pass? Only one reason: the tremendous upside. He's underrated by the media.

He had a chance to play a pre season game at home and looked really good. He spent the season involved in the team meetings and game preps and was involved on the sidelines. There have been multiple reports from coaches, players and media that he has an extremely strong and accurate arm and displays amazing leadership. He is ready to take over at QB and is going to show it.

In 7s, he looks great. Arm strength and accuracy are next level. He's getting better at layering. But the test of every young QB comes when he's under pressure. Does he take off too early, too often? Does he hold the ball too long? Does he make bad decisions? I think we saw a little bit of all of that against Flores last night. 

So I think this is a good place to remind ourselves what he did against a more standard, non-Flores defense. Not perfect, but he eludes the rush well, steps up in the pocket, and the ball placement is just beautiful on most of these passes. And remember, the Raiders were playing their starters.
