OT: Regular Gas Vs Premium
#11
I thought this would be the advantages of premium vs the cost compared to regular. I'm curious to the advantages that premium gives you over regular. I've heard the engine runs better with higher octane; perhaps better mileage (but how much? 2 or less mpg?)...

I’ve been running regular recently and I think I get easily 3 more mpg. But I save nearly $20 a fill up going regular.

Exactly. My BMW has never seen anything less than premium. I try at all costs to get no ethanol, non-oxygenated. It doesn't always happen, however.

My new Infinity will be the same way. I don't think it matters as much with this one, but that is what it says to use. So, I will use what they recommend.

We have a BMW X3 and a Lexus GS350, both get premium 90% of the time. The Lexus is 18 years old this year, only 79,000 miles. Always been in a garage. The Beamer we bought new a few years ago, but we'll run that into the ground as well. I mentioned this before, I hate spending money on cars.....but that doesn't mean I don't like nice ones. I'll just get my money's worth out of them.

That is low miles for that Lexus! Do you guys never drive it lol. You sure get the most out of your money it sounds like. The extra money is just worth it for superior gasoline. At least in my opinion.
