Rookie Camp
#11

The news cycle on this camp was just really light compared to last year.   Overall from what we can gather it was pretty solid.   KOC also did a video segment on the draft picks on Monday  which gave some glimpses as well.   Here is what I have taken away from everything I've seen. I will avoid Jackson.

1. Tai Felton -  the initial reports had stated he was a good route runner,  based on KOC he effectively stated a lot of the routes Felton ran are not pro concepts, more get to an area an get open.  They do incorporate some of that but I don't think he is near the technician that Addison was or is.  What he does have is elite speed and very good body control and hands.   I think he is an upgrade over Nailor.  The other thing he mentioned about him from the camp is for being a speedy guy,  he is bigger and longer arms that a lot of the defenders were expecting.  He has a solid 2 inches and 10 lbs on Addison.  I think if things go well he will add an additional wrinkle of not only someone you can send deep - like Nailor,  but has the potential to do more the intermediary routes and be more successful with the run after the catch.  For draft picks we haven't missed on single WR they have drafted.  All have outperformed their draft slot by a significant margin.  I feel pretty optimistic with this pick that it will play out just as well.

2. Ingram - Dawkins -  KOC stated emphatically if they didn't pick him when he was available that Flo would have jumped up and killed him LOL.   For someone who I thought had low production,  actually his production was much better than I expected.  His athletic ability is top notch,  and he fits the defense like a glove.  They are really high on him for being a 5th round pick.

If the Vikings focuses were those 3 positions,  I am not sure you could have ended up with a better group.

3. Kobe King -  Just a straight up baller.   I am sure they will work on his coverage skills, and they can hide him a bit more in our defense,  but for a 6th round pick you are getting immense production, leadership and toughness.   Its been mentioned a few places, but he came acrossed as probably the most polished, prepared and dominant player at the camp.   Pretty good for a 6th round pick.  I really expect him to bring confidence and competence to the linebacker position like Ivan Pace.

The only other player who really flashed on both days was Vaughn.  He will be one to keep our eyes on whether he can make the roster.

Its also pretty clear they have a high opinion of Brosmer.  Its as good of a situation as you could hope to go to, so was likely a no brainer for Brosmer.

All in all,  a bit more info out there if willing to look for it,  but just reaffirmed some of the info we heard from the draft.
