I think some of NFL figured KOC’s
#1
situational route running play calling.
The past 2 weeks almost nobody was open and the check downs weren’t always seen or visible.
I didn’t like Sam’s decision making or ball placement either but, the WRs were blanketed a lot. It looked the DBs knew where to be and dline gave a wrong passing lane for Sam to succeed.
He should have ran more after the 1st read.

Yep
I just don’t think he did a very good job of adapting this game. All the Rams did was copy Detroit and he should’ve been prepared for that. It’s really inexcusable. It’s nice to have a downfield passing attack I get it — Denny Green system was a lot like this, but you also have to mix in some quick slants and passes to negate the blitz. Kevin O’Connell just doesn’t seem to get it yet. I think he’s smart enough to look in the mirror and do some reflection. At least I hope so. This is the second playoff game in the row where he’s been favored and he’s been badly out schemed. I think ownership is correctly going to hold off on that extension. I know I sure would if I owned the team.

Colin Coward just said the same thing on Fox Sports. He said Kevin O’Connell was badly outcoached and he was.

Sammy threw 23 off target throws over the last 2 weeks, 13 against the Lions & 10 more against the Rams. Even as good as our skill position players are, you have to at least give them a chance!
