Still interested in Trey Lance??

The kid from Marshall, Minnesota and NDSU that so many were intrigued in swinging a trade from the 49ers and even the Cowboys....threw five picks yesterday in his big chance to shine.  FIVE!
I think that answers those questions, don't you?

ITs a sad tale now, I hadn't heard that...

To me that doesnt exactly reflect well on McCarthy or his staff either.

Last year, I was interested in a look at him if we could get him "cheap"...but, as much of my family are NDSU alums, his decision to pass on playing his last season there didn't impress us. His fall from grace since has been...interesting.

He may or may not have done better if he'd come to Minnesota instead of Dallas, but it's beyond moot, now.
LET'S WREAK SOME FUGGIN' HAVOK, VIKINGS!!! SKOL!!!

Another tragic tale of drafting for athleticism and potential instead of actual football skill. There was very little game tape from college and even less of it showing him doing what a QB needs to do at a high level.

He's garbage. And, although harsh, he's not smart. I listened to an interview he had yesterday after the game....yikes. Super raw and he'll be done after the 5 INT fiasco.

Can't let the local angle color you on what he is: not a NFL QB in any sense of the meaning.

Listening to XM NFL Radio this morning.   Ryan Leaf said there may be mitigating circumstances for the 5 ints.   He said we obviously DON'T know what McCarthy said to him but there are times where the coach tells the QB to go ahead and try and make the throw and not worry about the outcome on certain plays in preseason to show the QB what he can and cannot maybe get away with?   Said it was hard to understand how he threw for 300 yds, 2 tds, and a 70% comp.  and then 5 TDs without something else going on.

The really silly part is how much the 49ers gave up to get that 3rd pick. And that they had an internal disagreement - Shanahan wanted the great Mac Jones, while others wanted Lance. All because the mighty Zach Wilson would be gone at #2 ahead of them. It's like something out of the 3 football stooges.
