Warner: Successful NFL QBs make plays 'inside the pocket'
#11
There's truth on both sides of that, but the best teams continually prioritize the trenches...something we've moaned and snarled about since, well, since sites before this one. The last time we were really great in the trenches was...probably '09, and THAT was assisted by having the scariest RB in the league joined up with a gambling QB and a skill player core that matured at the right moment. Percy and Chester both still being on the roster was big, too.

Hutchinson anchored a monster line, the Williams Wall and Jared Allen brought it from the other side. Since then? People left, people retired, while consistent playoff teams made sure to keep monsters in there. KC's OL is always top 5, Philly's was #1 (the last 2 years, I think), and Stafford got his ring when LA had the best protection in the league in front of him.

Meanwhile, Russell Wilson...mobile guy, still...had his championship line erode, and his numbers did the same thing. It's not just about mobility, and he's theoretically smart/able...but needs protection.
It's Almost That Time Again, Skol Nation...!!

Was just reading about Penix this morning. Apparently, he's been inconsistent with his accuracy in camp: hits some great throws, straight up misses some easy ones. Like last night.
