I suspect this has to be something serious with Mike Smith's family. This is a time for prayers for him and his family. Time will tell the story, in the meantime, I suspect it is deeply personal and I respect that.
Obviously, any kind of extended leave of absence for a NFL coach during the season is very serious. Best wishes and heartfelt sympathy for whatever it is he's going through.
