Vikings may rotate LBs
#1
Interesting article on how all three of the Vikings top ILBs--Asamoah, Pace and Hicks--can call the defense, giving Flores the ability to rotate regularly providing a number of different combinations and disguise opportunities. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out as we get  deeper into the season.

Hey, flex/depth is so needed in a long season and with 53 on the active roster.  And I suspect we'll be going to an 18 game season soon with larger rosters.

Heck, LB is our best positional group on D imo, followed by S

Honest question.  How do you rotate out your green dot player?  Do they have a regular and dotted helmet waiting for them on the sideline?  If they're rotating on the fly do they just turn one dot off?

Was wondering the same thing. Asamoah says he has a speaker in his helmet even when he doesn't have the green dot. But I suspect that's just for training camp. I think the NFL rule is that only one player on defense can communicate with the coaches. Do they all have speakers and the green dot is transferable? Or is it a different helmet? Either way, it could be a problem if you're rotating constantly.

I believe its a different helmet,   seems I noticed in a PS game there was LB with a green dot get hurt and the camera showed another LB trade his helmet in for another one with the green dot.  I would guess though that they will have 1 green dot LB be a base LB and the others will be the ones to do the most rotating.

wouldnt it be a totally Viking thing to have a team stopped on a crucial possession,  only to get flagged for having to many green dots on the field?

Was wondering the same as everyone else.  Would have to be a second helmet.  And Jimmy, I was thinking the opposite, it would seem like we would be in a critical part of the game and we have 3 LBs out there with no green dot.

Ha! I don't think you'd want that. The starters just have to play better.
