Cardinals trading their pick?
#1
If the Rumors are true and several teams are trying to work deals for the Cardinals' pick, I see zero chance that Levis or Richardson get past #4 unless it's the Colts who move up 1 spot to ensure they get the guy the want between those two. Apparently lots of teams are really working hard to get to #3. For the Vikings to move up that far, you would have to give up this year's 1st and 3rd, and next years 1st ad 2nd to come close in points.

That's a steep price to pay for the 3rd or 4th best QB in the draft. I see zero chance that happens, and I also think that will elevate Hooker even further above where he really should be drafted for teams that are desperate and missed out on the top 4. It will also force the Vikings to give up assets they don't have to get ahead of teams like Washington, Tampa Bay, Seattle, and potentially Baltimore depending on how the Larmar thing plays out to be in position to draft him. There are several teams who like Hooker better than Levis and Richardson according to a few draft analysts that have talked to teams about where they are ranking the QB's on their board.

Lots of misinformation this time of year so who knows. I think plenty of Teams are realizing how average this draft is once you get past the top 15 picks and will make aggressive moves to go get the guys they want.

I really don't like how this is shaping up for us if we can't move up to get the guy we want due to a lack of assets to trade, or can't move down because we don't have any willing partners that value #23.

I think the Vikings want to move up this year. I think they'll explore that option and realize its going to be too painful from a compensation standpoint to do so. You'll hear rumblings on Draft day. But no triggers will be pulled ultimately. Minnesota will then select a DB in round 1. Fan chaos will ensue. Doom will be predicted. Frustration will run high. That is the odds-on favorite scenario.

I would say put the stamp on it and mail it, but KAM is the X-factor. If the Draft falls a certain way early, KAM may get pretty funky with it. Stay tuned.

If Banks or Branch are still available at 23 with no trade down partners, I agree that DB will more than likely be the pick. If those two are already gone, then it will probably be between DT and WR and who they have rated the highest on their draft board.

Vikings have had a # of players historically that have done well that were drafted in the 20's.

I'm not ready to call doom and gloom on it if it goes down that way.

Every draft is different. If we needed an Elite Tight End, I really like our chances at 23 because this draft class is absolutely loaded with High End Talent. The other positions of need for the Vikings, CB, WR, DT, Edge, have very few high end talents in this draft and are in high demand by other teams. It's not that we can't get a good player, but getting another Justin Jefferson level player at 23 in this draft will be a big challenge.

Agree. The Vikings aren't desperate for a QB, so it's hard to see them making a costly move up for one.
