Lamar should wait until the last day to sign his franchise tag and announce publicly that because he is on a one-year deal he will be strictly a drop back passer, like what you see in Brady, Cousins, Darnold, Brees, etc. and that he will veto any play call that requires him to run the ball. No more RPOs; no more scrambling for 50 yards; no more 1,000 rushing yards in a season. Expect closer to 100 yards.

He should tell them that because the Raven are installing a new offense and because he will not be there for much of the installation, the offense will be a work in progress and people should not expect much in the first year. He should also say that he will be happy to sign a second franchise tender next year under the same terms. In other words, the Ravens are getting Lamar as their QB, but not the Lamar that they are used to.
If he signs a one year deal on a franchise deal what would a Lamar be worth after that being a drop back passer and 100 yard rusher?  Is he even a top tier quarterback as a drop back passer and 100 yard rusher? Could be Lamar's high dollar contract days may be nearing an end based on his playing style and potential for injury the older he gets.  So far nobody has stepped up with a guaranteed contract so maybe that day is fast approaching.
You can't give him what he wants and give the Ravens the 2 first round picks.  Sure you can toss picks away on players that may not play to that level,  but you can't pay for that kind of contract and not have the picks to have top tier talent on rookie deals to offset it.  Thats part of the problem with Kirk,  his money with his talent level only works if you hit on enough draft picks to offset them, and keep the talent level of the team at a high tier.  The team hasn't drafted well enough and hit often enough the last few years to allow for success, and with KAMs penchant for trading picks away,  its going to be harder yet.
