A talking head on espn this morning said that Rattler was the best QB in Mobile this year, a group that included Nix and Penix obviously

My opinion of Rattler has flipped 180 degrees since the draft evaluation period started. Going in I thought his ceiling was no higher than a back up. Now I think that he can be a low end starter. Somewhere in the range of Baker, Geno, Danny Dimes.

And those QB’s are ones you can win with, but not the sexy picks that everyone goes nuts for. It’s nice to draft a Herbert or Lawrence, but neither of them have done anything yet.

You can win with Gino, Baker and Danny Dimes? Isn't the goal to swing for the fences? We just let Kirk Cousins go, for some here on this board he was 'a guy you could win with but couldn't get you to a Super Bowl'. If Rattler is a Gino Smith or Baker Mayfield, I'll pass. Just because Herbert and Lawrence haven't 'done anything yet', that means they never will? Trevor Lawrence is 24 years old.....and Herbert is 26.

IMO, I'm not sure what the right way to go is, but drafting a guy like Rattler isn't going to move the needle.

You can win, but you can’t be assured to even have the chance to pick the studs.  I guess that happened last year to us.  We need a Qb in case Darnold isn’t the answer, and he likely is not.
Trading down from 23 to get Rattler in the 2nd could be an option that would improve the QB room and add a 3rd rounder as well, but I agree it will be very disappointing if we can’t get a top QBOTF prospect.
