4th and 5, successful blitz like a jailbreak, Murray throws up a prayer from nearly 15 yards behind the LOS...and converts....tells you all you need to know.

The past few years, we have had absolutely no safety help in the secondary.  It is amazing, that on every deep ball, you never see a safety come in the picture.  NFL WRs are going to be an impossible task for a CB to shut down, they need to contain them the best they can and they need help from the safeties.  Has been a neglected position for years.  Since we drafted Smith take a look at the last time we drafted a true safety before round 5, it is typically late round CBs like Bynum or Hand who could potentially play safety.  Dantzler definitely showed promise, it if wasn't for him breaking up what would have been a TD pass, we never would have been in position to win the game.

I think many defenses are a bit behind this year, especially tackling and taking correct angles. This is the result of not playing in Preseason and no tackling in practice. Tackling around the league is brutal. If you can't practice it during the week, unfortunately its going to take a bunch of real games to get that "practice".
