The indictments are for domestic violence assault and impeding the breath or circulation of a victim. Texas law says if a person assaults a family member or dating partner and “intentionally, knowingly or recklessly impeded the normal breathing or circulation of the blood by applying pressure to a person’s throat or neck” it increases punishment from up to 1 year in jail to 2 to 10 years in prison.

So in Texas you're not allowed to choke your loved ones?  Since when?

Normally, that's extra...so I'm told.

I figured that "she needed choking" was a complete defense under Texas law.

If true, I hope the woman is able to put all of this behind her some day and find some peace. Very scary stuff.
What a waste of talent for him. And a wasted pick for us.

Agree. However, this isn't over yet. Right now Gladney is nothing more than a ham sandwich. We don't know for certain that he did any of this. We just know there was enough evidence to prevent a dismissal. And, honestly, her testimony alone is enough to do that. His side of the story is yet to be heard. But as I've said all along, with no material witnesses it becomes a he said, she said case. So this is fairly likely to be pled down. We'll see...
