It's 2 months later and he's still not practicing! What the hell is going on with this guy?

He had surgery to repair a core muscle injury back in January…
Must have missed that. That's a huge relief. We need him.

Yea, hopefully it’s just a case of easing him back.

But he was a full go to start  OTAs/mini camp and then stopped, IIRC they said it was tightness/soreness from that surgery and that it was normal tearing of scar tissue and part of the healing process but that was several months ago now and he should be past that I would think.

Bust! I knew he didn't stand a chance when they threw the Kahlil curse on him. " He allowed no sacks last year."
That is the McKinnie curse if I am not mistaken...not Kalil.  McKinnie was an above average LT -IMO.  Kalil was better then I thought early and then the injury bug stopped his career in it's tracks.

Onto Darrisaw,  I don't think there was a bigger advocate for Darrisaw then I.   Just putting it out there.  I love the kid as a pure LT.  Sure Slater was great at G/LT but I still think he may end up as a stud Guard (no sham/would take) but Darrisaw was a great pick and we were able to fall down and get him.  I have very high expectations and have said that before the draft.  If he is not our starting LT early into next season or by mid then I am not thrilled.  Won't give up on him of course, but my armchair GM/Scout expertise (and it is an expertise) might fall from a 10 to 9.9999...ouch, very painful.  My wife told me I was not perfect and now I realize she might be right for once Smile

Here’s all I’ve seen lately:
Christian Darrisaw is going to be eased into things. The Vikings' first-round pick played through a groin injury last year at Virginia Tech and had surgery in January to repair a core muscle. "He feels good," Zimmer said. "We're going to bring him in slow. The last couple days he was out here he moved well. We're going to be very careful with him these first few days."

"According to ESPN he did not give up a single sack on his way to being named the best offensive lineman in the Pac-12 for 2011." Kalil was then drafted in 2012 by the Vikings. The curse stands!

That was a mirage. Kalil gave up plenty of pressure. He got beat countless times. The fact that he didn't give up a sack was due mostly to Matt Barkley getting rid of the ball or escaping.

I called Kalil LT101 because he had perfect size, length, feet, and his pass sets were how you draw them up. He just got beat way too many times for my liking.

This is something to monitor. Pierce and Hunter are "being eased into it" after injuries also, but both had helmets on and were doing some drills (Hunter) or side work (Pierce) yesterday. They're vets, but still.
Pretty sure I saw a tweet saying Darrisaw and the kicker Patterson were the only 2 guys who didn't participate in anything on Day 1. The fact he didn't do ANYTHING isn't great. Hopefully he can heal up and get out there soon.
