This is funny, really, how much hyperbole there is on this about Heinicke. C'mon now, he's a viable NFL starter now after one game?? Man the hype train in the NFL is a force of nature!
It reminded me of the Matt Flynn situation. Guy comes in a plays a game or two for the Packers and gets PAID by the Seahawks and then doesn't even start...granted that was because of Russell Wilson, but still

Fans + former player having a good game = excessive hype.
How long has it been since he was a viking? How many coaches have missed this star languishing on practice squads?  They should all be fired for missing the obvious talent of a 6' 1" QB.

He wasn't even the starting QB of some lame arena-type team last year and helped coach the starter Smile  Those arena league QB coaches are so lame to miss the door kicking, beer drinking talent.  Looks like Heinicke is storming the Capital but only with zip ties and not Viking horns Sad

The real question, is he better than his heir apparent "backup QB that the Vikings let get away"?  At least Heinicke has a job.

Just stop it :p . I knew someone was going to bring that up.
I was pissed off "heir apparent" did not make the team. But I am a certified tv watching no insights/information unqualified GM and I am still right  Confused

Well your credentials surpass mine.  I didn't watch a game, but still believe I am a well unqualified GM.
