Some Saints fans were calling for Winston after Brees' performance this week.

Trade for him? Nope.

After 2 games the Vikes should trade for Jameis? Goofy. This is what you call creating your own buzz if you're a podcaster.

Yeah, NO.  Why this made me think of Josh Freeman, well I know why, but is that where we really are now.

Did he not see Winston play last year? I think he broke some kind of record for interceptions.

Everyone is overreacting about Cousins. I don't know what's up his ass but he's been a pretty good QB the last couple of seasons. From a clean pocket, the best QB in the NFL. I think two years in a row.

No doubt he's been awful for two games, worse than he's ever been, and I'm warming to the idea of tanking for Trevor, but this is his 3rd season in this offense. He really should be lighting it up this year even without Diggs, so I have to think the bigger problem might lie with some sort of disconnect between Kubiak and Cousins.

Agreed. I can admit I've overreacted a bit, but I still feel strongly they need to draft the future QB this Spring. I think the modern NFL is getting away from being able to have a clean pocket because the athletes on D are incredible today. The modern QB needs to be mobile and accurate while scrambling. Its just such an advantage and conversely, a big disadvantage when you can't because when Tom Brady and Drew Brees retire, you won't see QBs of that style again.

Everyone was shitting bricks last year after 4 games, and then he went on to have great season. Whether he goes on to rebound and light it up remains to be seen, but as you said he should be lighting it up.

Regardless, I agree that a QB in the draft should be a high priority. And if that QB were to be Lawrence?

Well stated.  Any QB can be effective in a clean pocket, but they do not exist consistently, defenses are just too good and you can't expect any offensive line to beat the defense on every play.  We didn't have a great OL when Keenum was here, he was consistently in trouble, yet no one was complaining about the OL then.  In today's NFL, the QB has to be able to help his OL out and I can't imagine any OL wanting to play with Cousins, because unless you are perfect on every play, you are going to get scrutinized.

In addition, many of Cousins interceptions and bonehead plays have come with clean pockets.  His problem is not a clean pocket, but that he is just not a very smart QB or that he really seems to care.  Watch the safety against GB, I can't imagine any QB going to the line at the one yard line and not surveying the defense before the snap, Cousins looks left at Thielen and from there he looks straight, never once looks at the defense.  How anyone in the organization thought it was a good idea to extend him is part of the reason why this team is where they are.
