Think we'll ever talk about Viking football again?

NFL today bans handshakes post-game as part of a set of rules released...

So after a full day of contact tackling, playing across from each other on the line o scrimmage, but no handshakes or jersey swaps post-game to curb the spread of Covid[Image: professor-puzzle-buzzer-battle-laugh-out...1589303044]?

I thought this announcement was really head scratching as well. However, am I the only one who finds jersey swapping weird and pointless from a fans perspective? I understand it's a sign of respect between players but I really don't get why it receives so much publicity? Also, the process takes forever because of how difficult it is to get the jerseys off and then how much the guys write on them. I dont know, it's an odd thing to me

Well it isn't for the fans, that is the players talking with friends and acquaintances after work.
As to the handshake, WTF.  Laying on each other in a pile, breathing, wheezing and grunting.
But hey, they have gloves and facemasks, so they will be alright.

The secret to happiness in 2020 is low expectations. And I have zero expectations of NFL football. So, I'll consider any bit I see to be a bonus. I watched the re-broadcast of 2009 Packers @ Vikings and was cheering every sack like it was a live game.

Lets GO .... do something, sometime, somewhere with a football.
That pretty much sums it up. Wait and see. Whatever will be will be. I haven't been getting too excited for football yet because it seems unlikely. Might have to go to a park to watch football.

Maybe we should just have a tailgate,  BBQ and frozen drinks...what say you?  How do you suppose the mmpls pd would react to a tailgate on a Sunday morning with no games taking place?

They better just have the games imo.
Let's do it. If you bring that same BBQ as before (so good), I'll bring the machine, ice, mix and tequila. Drinks will flow all day! We'll all forget about football and just hang out in the lots. That might be as close as we want to get to the stadium. I wouldn't be up for 60k+ people all screaming together. And I just don't see that scenario happening anyway. Reality will be me, some home made BBQ and the machine watching games from the lounger. We'll have to wait and see if they are from seasons past or current Smile

This was from the Vikings yesterday:

Over
the last week media reports have indicated the NFL may reduce the number of
preseason games played this year, and, as a result, the Vikings preseason home
schedule may change. While we do not have confirmation of the final preseason
schedule, we will share details with you as soon as we receive more information
from the NFL. Per the NFL’s previously announced ticket refund policy, for any
canceled preseason games Vikings Season Ticket Members will receive the option
of a full refund or a credit to be applied toward 2021 season tickets.

We continue to work on increased safety protocols and measures
to protect the health of fans, players, staff members and the broader community
for Vikings games at U.S. Bank Stadium. Any policies and procedures will comply
with state and federal regulations and must be approved by the Governor’s
office. We are also planning around a number of different capacity scenarios in
the event all Season Ticket Members will not be able to attend home games.
While we do not yet have an update on those discussions, we will provide
information regarding fan attendance as soon as possible.

We appreciate your continued support of the Vikings and your
patience as we navigate these challenges. We will be in touch with more
information soon.

I got that same email Nichelle. They won't cancel the season until they absolutely have to. I already have about 5 things picked out where I will spend my season tix refund. Maybe that new TV we need so badly?

I hope for us fans sake, they can play on tv...If they can do it in a way that isn't putting the players, staff's and families at home in harms way.

You think they're going to let 69 year old Dom Capers on the field? In the locker room? What about 64 year old Zimmer, or 60 year old Patterson? Kubiak is 58/59?

These owners are going to get "CRUSHED" if there is no season...I hope they have enough $$ in their savings account to weather the storm?  :p
