BREAKING: Mike McCarthy new head coach of the Cowboys
#11
The knock on McCarthy here in Cheezeland is that he wasn't a good in-game manager...slow to make changes and often scorned for his clock management.  Plus many felt he gave in way too much to Rodgers and failed to develop a balanced attack the Puke use today.

But he wont give Jurrah any back talk.

Always felt he was a good coach, but Jerry will fix that!

Good move.  It will be interesting to see how he does without Qbs named Favre and Rodgers on his roster.

I think he will miss having the officiating crew on his roster even more.

Happy the Cowboys signed him (hate the Cowboys) because McCarthy is average at best!

He thinks both. He thought he should have been consulted when the previous QB coach was dismissed. There are so many interesting takes on this hire. Guess we'll see how it goes. McCarthy won't demand the extra power which is a plus for Jerry. Jones will still be front and center because that is the way he is.

McCarthy's offenses got stale...

I'm on the fence with the guy. He was blessed with two HOF caliber QB's. When they didnt play? His record was probably closer to .500

He has one hell of a roster in Dallas that has under-performed. If he brings on some progressive coordinators? They should be a force in the NFC next year.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports ex-49ers coach Jim Tomsula is being "targeted" on Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy's staff. The report doesn't mention exactly which coaching staff position Tomsula is being targeted for, but Tomsula has been a DL coach for 12 seasons across two NFL franchises. Tomsula also was the 49ers head coach for one hilarious season. Any spot on the Cowboys coaching staff is an attractive one with star players scattered on both sides of the ball. Dallas just needs to turn that talent into more production. The Cowboys were 11th in points allowed and had below-average sack totals last year.

Looks like they are keeping Kellen Moore. He can be their George Edwards equivalent.
