Misc. Thoughts: Eagles

Just a few thoughts:

• Offensive Line:  I think everyone can agree that the key to the Vikings season really revolves around the offensive line -- how the new coaching would work, whether the line would gel together and individual development.  I think the first few weeks, the line didn't look great in pass protection but looked good at run blocking (though Cook's talent hides a variety of sins).  As well documented, Bradbury and Elflien really struggled.  I had real fears about the Eagles Dline against the Vikings OLine but this was clearly the best pass blocking of year.  Moreover, the inside (even without Kline) held up better than expected.  Yes, Elflien had his one turnstile experience where he totally whiffs (seems to happen once a game) but otherwise Cousins was able to step up in the pocket -- which has been rare to start the year.  Seems like the coaches are beginning to understand everyone's strengths and weaknesses and that they are teaching Bradbury some solid technique to help him anchor better.  It is nice to actually see the learning curve for the offensive line rather than the flatlining of past years.  
• Mackensie:  He is making a lot of money for himself.  Is he now the best CB on a deep CB roster?  That would be kind of ironic because he probably the CB that least fits Zimmer's desired measurements for a CB.
• Special Teams:    Am I starting to feel confident about all aspects of the Vikings special teams?   Is a strange feeling......

Agreed about the special teams.  I like what our coaches on that phase are doing.  We look prepared, we look agressive.  Been a long while since our special teams were actually special.
As to CB, Mac is playing well.  Don't think he is the best, hard to measure when he is playing the slot versus outside.  But this is a deep lot.  I think Hughes is playing very well.  That PBU against Jeffries was a huge play against a big physical WR.  With our top 4 CBs all able to play this D, it gives Zimmer lots of room to move people around and create the pressures he wants.

Oh, and Bradbury will get a chance to show that anchor this week against Harrison.  Hopefully Kline is back and we double the snack counter.

 I had to look Harrison up -- 6'3" and 350 lbs.  At least Bradbury won't have to worry about the speed rush but I can see him being walked back consistently.

The special teams have been surprisingly good.  Bailey hasn't missed a kick in weeks.  Colquitt seems to be the magical elixir as a holder.
