I have to give a shout out to Troy Aikman on this one

I was feeling bad for Colts fans until I was reminded of this:
Will Brinson@WillBrinson
Colts fans have had two decades -- literally -- of nearly uninterrupted franchise quarterbacks fall in their lap and the second adversity strikes they want a refund. Grow up.

As Vikings fans, we know all too well, next man up!

not saying I like Doug G, but Luck really screwed the Colts. Signed a huge contract and decided in the middle of it that he no longer wants to play. At age 29. Everyone will retire, I get it. But the Colts invested alot in him, not just money.  He set the organization back many years.  Head injuries, spine injuries i could understand. Teddy’s injury also. Maybe there is something we are unaware of. if not, I dont get it.
Indy is screwed because of it.  But he didn't screw them.  He has to live with his body for the rest of his life.

And frankly, if all he was doing every year was trying to recover from another injury, yeah it would suck the fun out of it.  Rehab is tough.  Rehab after rehab after rehab is a good enough reason to quit in my book.
I guess I grew up in a different era. If you signed up for something, you do it unless unable to. I am not a NFL contract guy but i am sure he is getting well payed.  Football is full of injuries and rehab. He got a couple bad breaks, I get it. Seems like the injuries are not life changing injuries. I sincerely hope not.  The Colts were counting on him for many years going forward. I am not sure if they have been in any position to acquire a QB recently, but I am guessing they would have passed. That is how I see the Colts being screwed.
Then the Colts are idiots. Did Minnesota wait for Teddy to get healthy?

Hell, even Jeruh finally realized that Romo was never, ever going to stay healthy.

The fact that they'd been through this with Manning but were in denial with Andrew makes them even more short-sighted.

I could be wrong but I am guessing the Colts knew about this before we did.  Unless someone has walked in his shoes I think they should stop ridiculing his decision...obviously referring to talking heads like Gottlieb.
The colts have known for several weeks that he was considering walking away,  i wouldn't be surprised to learn that he was already giving it one last shot.
This is my take too.  They probably badgered him into one more year, and then he told them if he gets injured that's it, and they were probably like, "Great, we've got a great line, we'll roll the dice"

First of all, Irsay is a dumbass and Grigson sucks. How Grigson still has a job is beyond me.

Grigson got canned a couple years ago. he was terrible. Chris Ballard is new GM.  starting to turn things around a little

If the Colts had beat NO in 2010 SB, I might have a smidgeon of care about their situation.  But the Jim Caldwell experience just didn't inspire anyone.  So F the Colts who sucked intentionally to draft Luck.  Now they can suck unintentionally.

I think this goes many ways...
1. I am with Luck for taking care of himself and future. Nothing beats health. So kudos to him for doing that.
2. The fans had every right to be frustrated cos they were sold something that never was ...they learnt about the retirement during the game so I think it felt abrupt (now we are hearing it had been in the works).
3. The Colts...tough loss. Teams will cut a player for not performing so Luck is taking care of him just like the Colts would have taken care of their bottomline. I do applaud them though for saying they will not go after the 12mil.
