2020 Tackle Class a "Potential Juggernaut"

Offensive tackles are generally over-drafted because of simple supply-and-demand economics in the NFL Draft — the demand for the position usually far outweighs the supply. However, the outlook for next year’s offensive tackle class is very promising. And that is great news for the league because all 32 teams are looking for improved offensive line depth.

The surplus of draft-eligible offensive tackle talent made it difficult to narrow this list to the top five, meaning fluctuation should be expected throughout the season. Underclassmen like Stanford’s Walker Little, Iowa’s Alaric Jackson, Boise State’s Ezra Cleveland and Wisconsin’s Cole Van Lanen all have early-round potential but didn’t make my preseason top-five rankings at offensive tackle.

In the senior class, Washington’s Trey Adams would have been a top-15 pick had he declared for the 2018 NFL Draft, but he suffered knee and back injuries and missed most of last season. If he returns to form and...

boy, let Reiff go, let Trey go, move on from Klein and go get Scheriff from Washington. Draft the best OT in the first round and you might end up with a premier OL to go with Cousins year 3

Great timing for the Vikings as they should draft a LT and replace Reiff for the 2020 season.

And Tristan Wirfs is #1 on that list. He's going to be such a monster.

4. Liam Eichenberg, Notre Dame (rJr)
5. Lucas Niang, TCU (Sr)

Trey Adams, who was considering a potential 1st round pick had he come out in 2019, is ranked as the second best senior prospect behind Niang... and, as the author mentioned, Alaric Jackson (Iowa), Ezra Cleveland (Boise State), and Cole Van Lanen (Wisconsin) all look like possible early round picks if they declare for the draft. That's a deep class.

No mention that there's a remote possibility that Oregon's LT Penei Sewell declares next year.

Complete freak, best LT prospect in last 10 years, started as a true freshman last year and dominated, was hands down the best freshman O-lineman in the NCAA last year.  Ducks are loaded with 4 guys who will get drafted next year and Sewell is the best player out of all of them.  Lot of comparisons to Jonathan Ogden, when he declares he will be a Top 10 pick.

Also his younger brother Noah Sewell is a Top 3 rated MLB in high school right now and leaning towards Oregon but has offers from dozens of top programs.
