Draft Mock from Kyrpton
#1
1-#18: Trade to Texans for 1-#23 and 3-#86
1-#23: OT Tytus Howard, Alabama State
Really. I think the Vikings have been looking for a RT since free agency, and they want to move O’Neill to LT and...not sure about Riley Reiff. Try at LG or release. Also, I think Spielman is hesitant to get “just” an IOL for a #1 pick, as he shows in his comments about getting a Pro Bowl or impact player. Howard can tweak that desire because he’s got explosiveness and athleticism that could make him look great in a few years. Vikings can work Howard in at RT with Rashod Hill holding the spot until he’s ready.
Also, good G/C prospects will be available later...like:
2-#50: C Erik McCoy, Texas A&M
I know McCoy might not be there - but he might and if he isn’t, Elgton Jenkins or Connor McGovern will be. This is where we can get the immediate OL improvement, a player likely to start even sooner than Howard.
3-#81: TE Josh Oliver, San Jose State Oliver gives Kirk Cousins an immediate flex/slot TE like Jordan Reed and probably initiates immediate contract restructuring discussions with Kyle Rudolph.
3-#86: WR Andy Isabella, UMass
Another piece in the “Make Cousins successful” campaign. Isabella can be a versatile slot receiver and stretch the field to open things up.
4-#114: Let Zimmer out of the room the Vikings had to lock him in for two days and let him pick another DT.
I don’t try to predict the last couple rounds because too many things will change after the next two days - and that’s when need should be even less of a factor.

Andy Isabella's hands worry me. Love McGovern, but I think he's an ill zone fit. Same with Jenkins, but less so. That said, I'd be pretty stoked with Howard and McCoy. I agree that the Vikings have been trying hard to fill that RT spot since free agency (given their interest in James and Schraeder). That should tell us something.

Otherworldly! Any mock with 2 O-Linemen in the first 3 picks is a good one IMO.
