Panthers are going to sit Cam Newton for the final games of the season.

Taylor Heinicke will get the start by default as he is the only active QB on the Panthers roster. Carolina has one other QB on their practice squad, but they have yet to call him up.

No pressure from the squad to perform - seems like a heck of an opportunity to gain some respect, get teams interested and continue on his upward NFL path.

Not sure his trajectory is 'upward' but he still is a young dude at only 25. I think its great he recovered from blowing his big break in Minnesota and will get some starting time in Carolina. Seems like a good kid.

A lot riding on those games for Heinicke. Play really well and he can parlay that into a nice little pay day and a #2 slot somewhere in the league. Play poorly and he might just disappear.
