She was probably in full mama mode and focusing on the kids first. Sometimes when things get scary, people run. And as much as she loves Everson, those children are depending on her for security and stability in the midst of crisis. In an overwhelming situation, she did the best she could. I hope things work out for the best for all of them. 

unless his hotel meltdown was an isolated event I am sure he gave her plenty of reasons to leave,  but I am strong believer that those kids will be better off with a stable father in their lives on a regular basis, so if he is truely turning a corner here I am for one glad that she is sticking with him... for the kids sake.

The kids will be better off feeling safe and secure. And whatever happens relationship wise, they will both remain parents to those children so Everson will continue to be in his children's lives. Whichever direction things goes, the kids will be a top priority as it should be.
