ROTO Mock

I don't see the Giants passing on Barkley to take Rosen when Eli still has life left in him. If they would focus
on fixing their line, a dual threat weapon like Barkley and a healthy Beckham would be a nice duo. I haven't seen too many mocks were Hernandez falls that far. I know Guru has some reservations about him but I think that is more about correcting some flaws in his technique with better coaching. I would be very excited if we could grab him at 30 without having to give up picks to move up. He showed the kind of dominance he is capable of at the Senior Bowl.

The Giants who have some talent need to leverage the value of the pick. Until Manning retires or moves on (maybe in a year?) you're not going to be picking in the top 5. Just prevent getting put into QB purgatory. Look at AZ now with the 15th pick and no QB. They'll either need to get lucky someone drops, find a diamond in the middle of the draft, or overpay to move up the board. Nothing against Barkley, but I think the Giants would benefit more from leveraging the pick and then taking Jones/Guice at the top of the 2nd. They could even move up slightly into the back end of the first if they really liked a guy. My issues with Hernandez has noting to do with his technique or ability. He just isn't as good of a fit in a stretch zone blocking scheme than he would be in man to man. He is a massive mauler and can move people at the point, but he doesn't have top-end speed to win angle at the 2nd level consistently. Think about the impact the Vikings had inserting Easton in at LG in the place of Boone. In a vacuum Boone probably is a bit better than Easton at the beginning of the year. But Boone has the same issue getting and sealing at the 2nd level. Easton is much quicker and can get ahead of the play.
