Hi Longshippers,
Just a quick note. My mom
once again got better up in Palliative Care. She slept up there for
nearly two days, then woke up wide eyed and said she was hungry. She was
alert, talkative, and joking around again. I said in the last update Palliative
Care would be her last stop, but if anyone should know better than
underestimate my mom, it should be me. ;-) The Sanford social
worker/discharge planner doesn’t remember anyone getting discharged three times
from Palliative Care. I just smiled and told her Alice was gunning for
the “hat-trick”. The doc laughed, and I said it’s ok to throw their caps
at her as she’s wheeled out of there.
Anyway, the Palliative Care team
says she was too healthy to stay up in the hospital, so she’s back at Eventide
in a nursing home room. My sister, Deb, had Hospice come in to evaluate
her. We now have the Eventide staff teamed up with Hospice to be sure
she’s comfortable.
This ride continues…
Have a great Thanksgiving – Tim
