Wouldn't surprise me...

To see Anthony Richardson on the roster here next year...QB Competition.

We got 6 games to go - to see any signs of hope #9 is making progress and can handle the job.

I think unless they think he is doing damage to himself (or as others have said, the team) then they're going to ride that pony till year is over...

That's a name I've had in the back of my mind as a possibility as well.

But yeah, ride McCarthy all you can. He needs the live game reps, and we need to see if this is something he can work himself out of.

I'm not giving up on the kid,  but he looks absolutely clueless out there,   how can him watching the same shit we have been seeing not be detrimental to his mental health as a QB?  He needs a break,  maybe a game, maybe a couple weeks,  maybe the rest of the season,   I dont know,   but I've never seen a QB look this bad and suddenly have the light come on without some kind of change of pace/situation.

And this is hardly all JJM,  the pkay calling does him no favors,   opportunities to give him passes in toss up situations were missed and when he did get to throw it was typically in obvious circumstances or formations.

Maybe the coaching staff needs a break as well.  How about we use the rest of the season to see if somebody else calling plays improves the game flow.  KoC still seems to struggle with clock management situations and seeing when things aren't working on D and maybe helping Flo with adjustments.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

JJM makes 2-3 good to great throws a game. Then he has 2 interceptions, 2-3 drops and 5 way off targets.

There was a point where I was saying great throw,  at this point I am thinking blind squirrel.

He's had CONSIDERABLE "breaks", and he's far from the first young QB to leave a stench early on.

The season has become what many feared, and most had to know was possible: the development year, the "bumps in the road" season.

It's hard and horrible to watch, and that's not just JJM. Both lines had absolute s**t stretches, today, our glorious rookie returner had another cough-up plus was very contained, our kickers were our best players.

KOC and crew have to show progress, not just the kid...but, it's ride or die time with them as fans. The "oops, bench him, play him" approach is full-on disaster that brings the ghosts of 2007 with it.
OK, KOC, time for that miracle....

Currently there has been almost nothing to suggest he has a future as an NFL QB,  asking for him to get a reset for a game or two is about the only logical next step.  Continuing to put him out there when he isnt showing any growth is just cruel and unusual punishment and does nothing for team support when it comes to guys that are playing for their next pay day.

Bumps lol. If this is bumps I’d hate to see potholes.

Agree, they’ve got to bench the kid. Young got benched and came back better. What is currently happening helps no one but our draft position.

Been a fan since day 1 of the Vikings. Seen a number of bad seasons. About every 10 seasons or so they field a championship caliber team, although they are over due currently.
But if this team brings in Richardson, Willis, or the like next year, and call it competition for JJ, I think I will consider calling it quits.
