Getting excited about late round bottom of the roster guys is a fan tradition.  Like saying Tai Felton was drafted to replace Jordan Addison.  It's good entertainment, even though it's patently ridiculous.

How many WR2s in the NFL do you think are 1st round draft picks? Its usually 2nd round or later. Tee Higgins (2nd round), Puka Nacua (5th round), AJ Brown (2nd round), Amon Ra St Brown (4th round), Jayden Reed (2nd round), etc. just to name a few....there are a lot more. I don't see why a 3rd round draft pick would be that crazy unusual for a NFL WR2 potentially.

Well yeah anything's possible. But I like to instead think about what's probable. This team hasn't said it's replacing Addison, who is worlds of talent beyond Felton, an overdrafted (IMO) 3rd rounder. They may sign Addison to a big extension and be happy to have JJM throwing to the best 1/2 combo in the league. That's what I would do.

And realistically the third target on this team is Hockenson. I expect Nailor to head to free agency given a chance, cuz if he really is the potential WR2 that people here keep claiming, he should certainly want to go get many millions more for that than he can get mostly riding pine in purple, right? Then maybe Felton, who they said specifically they drafted to return kicks, will have a shot at WR3 aka Target4.

But in the end I don't think it's that important an issue aka who are the bottom tier targets on a team with Jefferson and Addison and Hockenson. Maybe draft a guy whose name ends in "son", then I'll be a believer in his amazing future in purple.

Well, I'm not sure how 'probable' it is to resign Addison.....I think Cincinnati is going to regret doing that with Burrow-Chase-Higgins. That's a SHITLOAD of money tied up for two WRers when your QB is making $55 million a year. I love Addison, but I won't be shocked if he's not resigned.

we've got our QB on a rookie deal and Addison is still on his,  and we are 60 million over for next year ( sure some of that will take care of itself,  but there will also be deals that need to be added to that as well so I find it unlikely that they are able to pay 2 WR north of 30 per year,  especially when in a few years they will have to start to factor in JJMs next deal ( knock on wood)

No of course it's not. To say otherwise it just being belligerent. That said, I'd be surprised if Felton weren't redshirted in 2025. There may not be a better group of four receivers in the NFL...and he's a rookie who needs to work on his routes. 

But look at it this way, we can look forward to the same folks calling him a bust this time next year without considering the circumstances of why he didn't play, much like Turner, Nailor, et al

What I'm far more interested in is what this team's plan is for Nailor and Addison. Nailor is in a contract year and Addison is eligible for an extension at the end of this season. I don't think we can keep both, and I don't think we can afford to lose both. I know many have already written off Addison due to how much we're paying Jefferson, but I'm not convinced that's a foregone conclusion considering the team's 3-year window and what is probably a strong desire among leadership to keep the band together for all three years.

Not there is ever a good time for it, but a DUI heading into the first year you are eligible for generational $$??

I'm pretty sure that barring another off-field issue, KOC will pound the table to keep Addison. I don't know how they'll make it work since they already are spending like mad in free agency in part to make up for the lack of drafted starters. But the cap is more flexible than people sometimes think, there are lots of accounting tricks available to them.

The Bengals gave Joe Burrow 5/$275M two years ago. His cap hit is $46M this year. They then gave Chase 4/$160 this spring, then gave Tee Higgins 4/$115 a week later. They also have a highly paid Orlando Brown Jr at LT and a highly paid Edge in Trey Hendrickson. So it can be done if you're willing use lower-salary, league-average players at positions of lesser importance. Of course they're struggling to extend Trey Hendrickson and may have to trade him. 

Right now I just want to have that problem.
