Johnson translation: Stop whining, optics are important
#1
“Early in the process we sat down and watched some tape from a year ago and we talked it through,” Johnson said. “It’s like, ‘Do we really want to? Is this what we want to look like or not?’ We come to an agreement, ‘No, it’s not, OK, we learn from it, we move on to the next thing.’ Body language is a huge thing. Demeanor. We don’t want to be a palms-up team where we’re questioning everything. No, no, no — to me that’s a little bit of a sign of weakness. We don’t want to exhibit that from anybody on the team.” - Ben Johnson on Caleb

Very interesting. Johnson trying to bring culture into Chicago. Caleb fell all over himself backtracking on the 'wanting to come to Minnesota' narrative from the book yesterday.

If only body language were his only problem. Dude has serious accuracy issues. I think Ben Johnson is going to be a mess on the sideline going from watching Jared Goff to Caleb Williams.

I'm not sold on Caleb either. But extremely interested to watch it play out. I think Johnson is going to be pulling clumps of his own hair out at various times this year.

Williams is a coach killer. Johnson should have waited another year. Glad he didn’t.

They paid Johnson a kings ransom to turn around a moribund franchise...

The Bears did a lot in the off-season to try and turn the ship around. Caleb is certainly key to that, just like JJM is here. I think the kid is going to be just fine and their best QB in a long, long while.

Will be super interesting to see how this all plays out for both teams. We certainly wont have to wait long this season to see it live.
