All class by Bynum, going to really miss him, think the team really underestimated his value from a leadership and team chemistry perspective, thought he should have been a definite to stay.

I'll bash KAM on his drafts, but I will give kudos to the org for giving JJM one hell of a surround Yr1 of starting. All those other qb's (sans Pepp) Brandt rattled off did not have any where near the ecosystem JJM gets to take advantage of.

I was just watching that, and it did make me sad to know that Cam's gonna be elsewhere...but, I loved everything they said about JJM. Hanging out in defensive meetings during his downtime and showing ambition the moment he could do any throws...both very good signs.
Build on 14-3, take back the NFCN, break the ****ing curse. Simple.

Listened to the Dan Patrick Show in the car a bit ago, had Dianna Russini on. Said this is a HUGE endorsement by KOC that this is his guy, he's attaching his wagon to JJ. High confidence in McCarthy by KOC. KOC had full support to get Rodgers if he wanted....he declined. Rodgers wanted to come to Minnesota.

Giddy up.

Vikings safety Cam Bynum with some high praise for the Vikes new QB1 JJ McCarthy.

"I trust him. JJ's somebody that I trust is just a leader, first and foremost, the way that even though when he came in, he was still a young guy, still competing with Sam [Darnold]. But the way that he carried himself just as a leader, but also still following the right way and still listening and humbling himself to learn from the other guys.

But the one thing that stood out to me from him, as soon as he got in, he was throwing that ball. He was a gunslinger in practice. First & 10, you know simple concepts, he's throwing the deep ball and he's trying to fire downfield. And that's something I respected out of a rookie. And then going forward after his injury, he's sitting there in the defensive team meeting room with us and trying to learn our defense and just trying to learn any way he can.

He's kind of a maniac when it comes to just football overall. So I think the way that he's carried himself while he's hurt I can only imagine how he'll carry himself when he's healthy, when they give him the keys to the program to be able to go and just carry himself as that leader. They let him know you're the guy we're rolling with. So I think JJ is going to grow. And that's somebody, like I said, I can trust."

Shoring up that interior OLine was huge.  Already had the offensive weapons, but if we can run the ball and pass pro, this kid has everything he needs to succeed.

....and fans are going to see it now in full as he's been named The Man. The team too. He's genuine/works hard and that lends itself to getting respect. HIS team now.
