Offense wins games, Defense wins Championships...

....straight from Jalen Hurts. Hey, Joey Burrow: you got what you whined for, brother. Time to win championships. Tough sledding coming, especially when both of those WRer contracts escalate the cap at around the same time.  Sleepy I sincerely hope Minnesota doesn't do anything like this with Addison when the time comes. Its funny, I used to be more of a Burrow fan until about the last year: the too-cool-for-school shit always, the hair dyes, the outfits, the 'I know when I'm on the camera' moments...that has changed my mind. Still think he's a hell of a QB, however.

Yah, the bros vitriol against Caleb vs the adoration for Burrows always eluded me...I like em both tbh.

Vikings should have a nice problem to solve with Addison, I like his trajectory and his game. He's an important part of this offense and will get a bag somewhere. Probably not Higgins $$ though.

I dont know how often we'll see 44 to 38 score SB's any time soon. Everyone will try and emulate what Roseman has done with D and a running game....Easier said than done.

I think if the argument is that the Bengals should be spending big bucks on defense instead of offense, and using the Eagles as an example of that is misguided. The Eagles 4 most expensive players are on offense. The Eagles like most teams that win the super bowl were good on both sides of the ball. Top 10 in offense. Top 1 in defense. The most notable thing that you take away from the Eagles is how much roster talent there is and how little all of it costs. Lane Johnson is there most expensive player in 2024 and cost only $16M. The most expensive player on their vaunted DLine cost $5M.

I think in the end, what it comes down to is getting the most production per dollar, and I think that is mostly on having great coaches and the GM on bringing in coachable guys that have good physical talent and then structuring contracts in such a way that you maximize the amount of talent on the roster at certain times. And you have to hit on your QB.
