If SF doesn't get to the Superbowl I think Cousins is a 49er.

If that happens I think JJ is traded for a QBOTF and other picks.

JMO, but I don't think any of that happens.

But it certainly isn't 100% not possible. I think the win streak the team went on without JJ might have been a revelation.

I think if Kirk’s health checks out then he’ll be back for another year or two.

Unfortunately, I do not think by mid-March that his health will check out. If that’s the case I think the team decides to move on.

Being out of drafting or even reasonable trade-up range of the top QBs is going to make it a very difficult decision though.

I think SF is happy with Purdy so I don’t see them as an option for Kirk.

Purdy is playing at a MVP level at 1/30th the cost of Cousins.  The cost of upgrading to Cousins and sacrifice for the rest of the roster is too high.

Cousins is in Minnesota or Atlanta next year.  If he says in Minnesota, I really hope its at a discount because:
  • Tying up a lot of money in a 36 year old coming off of a achilles is a recipe for disaster
  • In addition to extending Hunter, Jefferson, we need to fill holes on the DL and OL (1) FA each   Conor © and Leonard Williams (DE/DT) could be make this team a serious Super Bowl contender
